I genuinely cannot express enough just how OUTSTANDING David was today at Urban Bird. From the moment I walked through the door, David radiated this warm, infectious energy that instantly made me feel like I wasn’t just walking into a restaurant—I was stepping into a space where customer service is not only a priority, but an art form, and David? He’s the Michelangelo of hospitality.
David didn’t just greet me with a smile—he greeted me like an old friend who was genuinely thrilled to see me again. His charisma, professionalism, and attentiveness were off the charts. And I’m not exaggerating when I say this: it felt like I was the only person in the entire place. He made me feel seen, heard, and valued from start to finish.
His knowledge of the menu? Impeccable. I had so many questions (because everything sounded amazing), and David answered each one like he had personally helped prepare every dish in the kitchen. He didn’t just recite descriptions—he painted flavor stories that practically made my mouth water before I even ordered. He recommended the perfect combo of dishes, with the kind of enthusiasm that made me excited to try new things. And spoiler alert: every single one of his recommendations was a 10/10. Actually, no—11/10. He somehow knew exactly what I’d love before I even knew.
But what truly blew me away was how effortlessly he balanced every single table, remembering drink orders, dietary preferences, little details about customers—and never once looking stressed or rushed. He moved with this confident ease, making sure glasses were full, needs were met, and smiles were on every face around the room. He checked in just enough, always at the right moment, never overbearing, never distant. It was like he had a sixth sense for perfect timing.
David is the kind of person who transforms a meal into an experience. The way he carried himself—with passion, precision, and a genuine love for what he does—made it obvious that this isn’t just a job for him. It’s a calling. And honestly, Urban Bird is lucky to have him on their team. He’s the kind of employee that makes people want to come back not just for the food (which was incredible), but for him. If I could give 100 stars, I would.
If you’re lucky enough to be served by David, just know you’re in the best hands imaginable. Thank you, David, for making today unforgettable. Urban Bird is amazing—but YOU are the reason I’ll be coming back...
Read moreFirst Glances: I went at 5:30 pm but it wasn't completely packed. First, the parking is ok but limited because it's in a strip center. Walking in, it's very tiny in the restaurant with limited seating so if it's busy, good luck staying there and eating. There are no menus hanging up to view, you have to use a menu that God only knows how many people have touched before.
Pricing/Ordering: The prices are pretty high in my opinion for chicken tenders. I ordered the bird pack with was $35 because it seems like the best price for the most food. That came with 10 tenders with however many flavors/heat levels you want, 2 large sides, sauce, bread, and pickles. I ordered 2 fire in the hole, 3 XHot, and 5 Nashville Hot. For my sides, I ordered hot cheeto mac and sweet potato fries. I also ordered 2 milkshakes for $12. Yes, $12! :0
Food: We didn't know what tenders were what which was disappointing because we wanted to eat the hottest ones together and at the end. Well my first one was the FIRE IN THE HOLE AND THAT BAD MAMBA JAMBA WAS HOT! Blew my taste buds off and I wasn't able to taste any of the other ones after that for a bit. Later, I tried the others. The XHot tasted like a habanero to me but was spicy for sure. Fire in the hole had better flavor to me. The Nashville ones were packed with flavor and all were cooked to perfection! The mac was so good, more so without the cheeto dust but still so delicious!
Other: Awkward exchange between the worker and myself. I'm trying to get my lips to stop burning so I ask the worker if it was extra for a couple pickles and he tells me yes, 50 cents. I ask him if its just 50 cents or if it's taxed and he said it's just 50 cents. I have my son go out to my car to get change (remember my mouth is on FIRE at this point) and he comes in and gives it to him and the worker proceeds to say 'with tax, it's actually 54 cents.' I think my blood was hotter than my mouth at that point because I specifically just asked how much he needed to grab. The fact that I tipped this guy $5 for simply taking my order and then he hassles me over FOUR CENTS! Nice dude but he needs to re-evaluate situations with customers.
I'd go back at some point but not as frequently as I would if it...
Read moreI've tried the location in San Marcos and Georgetown, I didn't realize a location was in Webster until I searched it via Google. Low and behold, it's closer than I imagined.
This restaurant is located on the feeter road of 45S and in a pocket parking lot of Lowe's. It's a shared parking lot and Urban Bird is nestled between two establishments. The restaurant is pretty standard red and wood style with a giant rooster standing on the middle table.
Plenty of seating inside the restaurant including a couch like seat facing the counter (I'm guessing for takeout orders).
There was one person taking the orders and the same person bringing out the orders, but she was going quick so there wasn't never a line. I ordered the meatless basket with fries with bread. I asked for the seasoning and sweet tangy BBQ to be saturated.
The cashier chick was very nice, smiley, and patient when I took my order.
Of course, when I got my order, they only put the seasonings on meatless tenders. There wasn't any sauce on it at all. So of course, I didn't get what I paid for. Nonetheless, the food was still very delicious and hit the spot after a very long day.
I was given a free card to get a lemonade. The food is good so I'll be back, but next time I'm going to emphasize the importance of covering the meatless with sauce and make sure it has the spices.
I'm from the South so I love seasoned food. Note to any consumer, as I was leaving. I noticed there was a ton of broken window glass on the ground. I got very scared and concerned thinking my windows were busted (as that expense would be expensive).
Luckily, my windows were fine no damage, but I'd still be aware because the area is growing and crime is starting to creep up. Just be...
