The wait was fine- we got there 25 minutes before our reservation and had to wait till our reservation time to be seated, which is fine to us. My iced latte, and my (2) sisters espresso martini (sub vodka for bailey), and mimosa were yummy. On the other hand, my chicken was definitely overfried. When I asked our unpleasant server she said “yeah it’s spicy so that’s how it looks”. Im pretty well versed on how darker/red-ish seasoned flour works, but it shouldn’t be black on the ends and edges. I just said that’s fine and left a chicken and a half on my plate when i was “done”. When walking out I saw another girl get served the same thing and asked to take a photo because it looked nothing like mine. Chicken was nicely fried and glistening on her plate. For $18 chicken & waffles It would be great if they didn’t come out with such different color/cooks on them. I’m extremely disappointed in that, especially that our server tried to play like I was dumb for asking if mine was burnt (when now I see it clearly was). We’re from here, so something like a good grits runs in our blood and my sisters side of them was really not something she’d ever order there again. She also asked for no syrup with her monte cristo, which is fine if they still put it in the cup on the side except it was served to her with half the syrup dumped on her plate. Our server seemed annoyed and rolled her eyes the whole time (even though we didn’t bring up any concerns- the chicken was complained about at the very end because even if it was wrong I was not about to wait 20 minutes for another one). Our server came back with 1 check without asking if it was together or not, Then we let her know it’s seperate, we had bahfl and the $5 off next visit, also my sisters birthday coupon. She crumbled up the check she had brought out right in front of us? It was a weird reaction honestly. She came back with 3 checks, charged my sister for her cake and only did bahfl, then was visibly annoyed that we asked about it and she said you can only use 1 discount- totally fine we get that, but letting us know when we literally told her would’ve been nice. So we asked to switch to the $5 off instead of the bahfl and to fix the birthday cake charge. When we got to my sister with the mimosa and cake, she asked about the $5 mimosa- after our server going to the back for 5-10 minutes, she came back and said “we can’t stack that discount either”. ITS LITERALLY YALLS PROMO FOR AUGUST. Do not advertise promos if you can’t even use anything with that. That was honestly ridiculous I’ve never been somewhere that has ever done that. I had such high hopes for this place as a brunch spot and it really didn’t reach that. Not even close. I’m not sure I’d ever come back at this point either, especially after reading previous reviews before writing mine, I see the comment back is a very long, drawn out, generic “sorry you feel that way, hope you’ll try us again one day”. It feels like a bit of lack of accountability. I truly hope for the owners sake that this isn’t a reoccurring thing, I root for other local small businesses usually 😭. I also don’t mind sharing the servers name privately, but I will not post her name here out of respect (and yes to anyone else reading- we all 3 still tipped atleast 20% because I’m very aware people have...

Read moreThis was my second time visiting and although the food and ambiance is great the service was not outstanding. I visited in November and December and BOTH times we were asked to move tables and basically rushed to leave. We may have only been there about an hour at that time. Coincidentally, it was the same table both times, along the wall in front of the bakery area. I think it may not be a good idea to sit there because this is where they like to sit large parties. During my visit on 12/22 we were asked multiple times if we were waiting on more food or drinks even though I was clearly still drinking a latte after finishing $40 worth of food/drink. I noticed a large party was being seated next to us and we were asked if they could physically move our table over while in mid conversation. My friend and I thought it was a little weird but obliged in understanding in order to create some space between the large party and us. About 10-15 minutes go by and then we were asked to find a table outside and it was 47 degrees and the heater on the patio did not work. It definitely made it awkward for us. I requested dining room seating for a reason as it was cold outside. We politely moved outside to avoid the awkwardness with the staff and were offered a cookie from the bakery in exchange…. It is very rude and unprofessional to ask paying customers to move during their meal to essentially brush them aside for people who arrived after us. No where else have I ever been asked to physically move tables or rushed out. Very strange interaction, made us feel...
