My wife and I have been coming to Ye’s for years now. It had been our favorite hibachi restaurant in the Houston area. The service was always great, the food tasted amazing, the price was fair, and the place was efficient in getting their food to you timely.
Yesterday we had ordered Ye’s to go. It was our first experience for take out and now likely our last at ever going back there.
We placed the order and was informed it would be ready in 20-30 mins. We got there at the 30 min mark. The waitress seemed to be disinterested in getting our order as I had to ask about it twice in a 10 min window with no direct response. Finally what I assume the manager commented that the food may have been picked up by door dash. After another 20 mins and talking to another staff member they finally brought out our food.
We checked the food upon entering the car and it was ice cold for the soups and the entrees were not that warm making me believe that we sat there for 30 mins when the food was probably already ready when we arrived but no one cared to take care of us. Even though we had to drive home I understand food will get cooler, but to have cold food right after pick up is unacceptable.
Finally the icing on the cake of this situation was while we were eating. The salad and soup had no issues, but while in the process of eating the rice, I felt something crunchy when I ate a bite and then spit it out. I pulled out a fingernail from my rice. This is beyond unacceptable and put me off my whole dinner.
This experience has now warranted us never to go back especially being that we paid $110 for 3 hibachi dinners, and 3 extra soups and 2 extra salads. We were extremely disappointed in the standards we encountered both at the restaurant and of course...
Read moreGood food but dirty place. Unsatisfactory overall customer experience & not going back here.
First time we tried this place since it was close by. Place was near empty even though it was already around 6-6:30pm. We had a hibachi dinner and the filled mignon, lobster, veggies, & fried rice were flavorful. Also worth mentioning that the appetizer salad was sweet & tasty but it came out like soup because of the amount of dressing they put on it.
Went to use the ladies' room and on the way there, I passed by the kitchen and the floors were just a mess back there with food scraps & some straws. The further you go to the back of the resto, the more it gets untidy. Inside the stall, the toilet cleaner wand was on its side by the toilet. The electronic paper towel dispenser was empty and the new roll was just on the sink, all wet & splattered with water.
On the way out of the resto after we had our meal, I noticed they left the door open to a stock room beside the front entrance which was just very dirty with things that seemed to have fallen on the floor and something that looked like a puppy pad? It was a white sheet at the top with a blue underside that was crumpled up on a corner.
Meanwhile, there were 3 other servers just casually chatting & on their phones at the front desk, no eye contact with us customers whatsoever. It made me wish they would try to go around and clean up since they had no other customers at the...
Read moreThe person who answered the phone was rude. I called to ask what was in a roll called hot cheeto roll because their website did not state anything but the name. She said she didn’t know so she asked the chef. I can hear her yelling across the room about the menu item and then the chef said he didn’t know. She came back to the phone and told me they’ve never heard of that item before and that they don’t have it. I told her that it was on their website. She just repeated that she doesn’t know. I told her thanks and we hung up. I went ahead and ordered it anyways among other rolls. I waited for 30 minutes and they never updated their “live order status”. So I called and they said it was ready. I get there and the whole time I was surprised they didn’t say anything about the hot cheeto roll. I was prepared to swap it if they truly didn’t have it but nothing. So I asked the lady who I spoke with earlier, “did you guys figure out the hot cheeto roll?” And she said, “yes the chef figured it out”. I go home to try it and everything tasted disgusting. It lacked in freshness and almost warm. The taste was bland. And I’m talking about all the rolls not just the cheeto one. And it’s not because I drove very far to pick it up because I live 5 minutes away. The only positive thing I can say about them is their lunch special pricing wasn’t that bad. But definitely not worth it. Won’t go there again. Hopefully I don’t end up with...
