Original Review: We ordered a cake for my daughters birthday. It tasted good and was cute. However we were very disappointed that it started to bulge at the base on both sides shortly after we set it out. Had to cut it sooner than we would have liked so it didn’t completely collapse.

Owner response: Thank you for informing us about your cake. We show the cake during pick up and it was in great condition. The air pocket, bulge, or droop in the icing could be a result of transporting the cake or a temperature change. The cake should be refrigerated until 1-2 hours before serving. The layers would not collapse. Thank you for the pictures and speaking to us over the phone about your cake order. We appreciate your business.

Updated Review: The response received from the owner is extremely disappointing. At pickup- the cake was shown in the box - I wouldn't have been able to see any damage at the bottom of the cake. The top looked great. The cake was transported carefully + properly - and was served almost immediately when we got back to the house (1 hour after pick up). This was already explained over the phone and acknowledged. The "bulge" was noticed right after removing from the box- and it continued to get worse up until it was cut and served. It's frustrating for a business owner to blame a customer for an issue that could have been caused by the construction of the cake or a mistake in the baking process. It's ridiculous to say "the layers would not collapse" -IT HAPPENS- it does not matter if you've "made this cake so many times before". The bottom layer lacked support and this is a contributing factor as to why the cake started to collapse. It would have been appropriate for this to have been acknowledged as a possibility. I will not be ordering from here again due to the poor...

Came a few wks ago on a Tue, they didn't on time, at 12pm. Walked around, came back 15 min after 12pm. Was told; I just opened, I'm not setup." Well.. when you have a business and you open at 12pm you should already be ready and setup by your opening time!! That's how business works... I asked for a specific cake, German chocolate.. I was told they only make it on Fri, Saturday and Sunday. (Guess i was supposed to know that on my own) 🥴 Went in at 3:10pm today, a Friday. Wasn't greeted, just told, let me know when you're ready. I asked her for the German chocolate cake... She says we won't have it until 3pm because our cake decorator doesn't come in until 3pm.. (mind you it's after, 3pm). I tell her, I was told you will have it on Friday, she tells me I should have called... wth??.. (So apparently I was supposed to know to call for their own products that should already be available).. Well, that was the 2nd and last time I'll do that. I had it before. Was good overly priced.. but I only wanted it since I couldn't make my own due to a broke arm. I'll definitely never go spend my money to support. Mine is definitely better so I'll wait for my arm to heal.. They could definitely look into customer service training, business management and...

HANDS DOWN THE BEST CAKE IN THE DFW!

I ventured into this place while visiting Scheels and everyone knows a sweet-tooth will find sweets. I walked in and was greeted by a warm personality...Yolanda (the owner) it is great to see Black Owned establishments especially in this up and coming area. I challenged her cake vs. my Moms and after several bites... whispers "I declare Yolanda the VICTOR!". She asked what I liked and I informed her pineapples, luckily they had something called a "Hummingbird Cake" BRUUUUUUUUUUUUH!!!! This cake was so good. I've since been back twice and since use this place as a cheat meal. I direct ALL my friends, family and business partners to try this place out. It's good to know that I don't have to travel all the way downtown to the "Cake Bar" to get a good slice of cake.

My only recommendation = add delivery (UberEats, Favor, etc.) Your cakes will FLY off the counter! = PROFIT⬆️

@Yolanda, I know I couldn't do a cake for my birthday party due to COVID, but we will place an order for my Marathon celebration after-party :-)
