Read moreI don’t normally leave reviews, but the customer service here (or lack thereof) deserves a callout.
I stopped here with two friends to get coffee on the day of the solar eclipse. The place was pretty empty when we walked in. We each ordered a drink and waited at the end of the counter. There were two people working. The guy at the register was nice enough, and is the only reason this rating even has one star. The girl who was making the drinks, however, was pretty slow and noticeably in a bad mood. We saw she didn’t make one of our drinks before she started on the order for the people who came in after us. We waited to see if our drink would come up later, but noticed she had fully moved on to other orders.
My friend asked very nicely about the missing drink and the barista rolled her eyes at us and basically accused her of making it up. She said she needed proof of the drink order. We hadn’t asked for a receipt, so she waited behind the cashier guy until she could check the tablet. After she confirmed that we did in fact order the drink, she made it (at sloth speed, by the way) and handed it over to my friend without a word.
Aside from being rude and acting so annoyed, she also failed to offer an apology or even acknowledge that she had made a mistake (which would have been fine had she not accused us of lying about our order).
The place was close to empty and was still pretty filthy. No napkins in the dispenser. And they got the milk choice in my drink wrong after the guy at the register confirmed it for me twice. I will not be returning. Go get coffee somewhere else if you don’t want to be treated like dirt or wait 20 minutes...
Read moreNice, quiet café hidden in Grandscape just to the right of the Topo Chico Stage & Lawn. GPS will NOT tell you exactly where this place is. There is parking at Grandscape, obviously, but be prepared to hoof it through a lot, across a street or two, and into a plaza of stores, shops, and restaurants before you reach this little gem. Once I found it, I was pleased with the decor and layout. Plenty of seating, but there's limited outlets for those who want to work a bit or charge a device; if you don't get a spot on the back booth wall, you're out of luck there. I had their popular honey cinnamon latte, and the barista offered to make it half sweet because the honey can be a bit strong. I declined, but I should've taken her up on it. While good, the drink was sweeter than the typical coffeshop fare. Not a negative, just a heads up. I sat and worked for a few hours and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Great music selection, by the way. Staff were friendly and competent. The one star off is just because it took me nearly 20 minutes to find this place and a relatively nearby parking spot once I arrived at Grandscape. (It's really tucked away with no signage leading you to it from the direction I came anyway.) So if you've never been here and you're looking to meet up with someone or you just want to come by, bear these things in mind. But otherwise, it's...
