TBH is was just a tad disappointed with our first visit..we went at around 6pm on a Friday night which we realize was a peak time. It took almost 40 min to get a table for 2. They did have a server in the waiting area and the bar was providing expedited drinks to those who had to wait and the server had a mobile scan pad so payment was simplified and we did not have to worry about leaving a card or carrying a tab. Before I start the critique let me just say that all the staff we interacted with were the very picture of grace under pressure. It was pack, super loud and one step above chaos in there. But the staff where polite, efficient and professional especially our server Hannah who had fantastic knowledge of the menu and did wonderfully. Now to the critique. 1) They have a huge outdoor patio that would have been lovely to be seated at but it was pouring rain and unfortunately they did not build it with a retractable roof. 2) The ceiling is solid metal so their is nothing to absorb the noise and the place has terrible acoustics because of this so it is impossible to have a conversation without screaming at each other and even then its difficult to hear the person 2 ft away 3) The drinks were good and of decent size. They have many delicious house concoctions to try. Pomegranate Margaritas are so far our favorite. 4) The French Fries are really good in house cut and made kudos there. 5) The burger I had I was a little disappointed with it was either made wrong by the kitchen or was missing some of the descriptions ingredients im not sure which but it definitely did not hold up to the menu description. 6) Price of everything seems high for what we got. 4 cocktails total and 2 entries with no appetizer and with tip was $100 for 2 people. For that amount I expect better from a gormet Hamburger restaurant. This nitch in Dallas is highly competitive and I think to make it they will have to do better then this. We are going to give them 1 more try in a...
Read moreMy family and I visited this establishment on Saturday 8/24 around 1pm. I give this place an overall 3 because of what happened when we initially entered the restaurant. When we walked into the building, it was nice and smelled great. We were a party of 7, my family. The manager spoke with the front door hostess then advised us to follow them to our table. We followed him upstairs all the way to the back of the second floor. I was a little taken aback. Why were we all the way in the back by the kitchen. There was no one else around. I was upset. I left my seat and took a walk around the restaurant and realized we were a large party of African Americans in a predominantly Caucasian environment. I asked the hostess to get the manager after I requested that my family be seated in a more social area where there was plenty of seats. He approached the table and I let him know how socially unaware he was in that moment. You sat a brown skinned family in the back of your restaurant by the kitchen. I even gave him the benefit of doubt that it was not intentional. He explained that it was not. Based on table rotation to help out the staff, this take was next on rotation. Obviously I doubted what he said. I watched that corner that we were sat in the entire 2 hours we were there. Not one time was anyone seated in that corner.
Our waitress was also of African descent and was AMAZING! The food was great. We did receive a raw burger, but our waitress ensured that it was corrected and cooked properly. We were approached by who I believe was the general manager and I also let him know what we experienced. I’m not sure if this Caucasian manager and hostess that seated us were addressed, but I wanted to make sure that the public was at least aware. I took a picture of that corner where we were seated.
I’m sure we will not return. It was sad that I had to teach my brown children to speak up and know when they are not being...
Read moreSpent a day out with friends and we wanted try something new. Although, after having a horrendous experience at the Rackhouse, we drove down the road to our comfort food, LSA Burger. We had no wait and were quickly escorted to the patio, as we requested since it was a beautiful evening. They had live music and the ambiance was casual but cozy. I have to say, thank goodness that we choose LSA! We had the best service yet, it was an overwhelming awesome experience that it overshadowed the crappy one we had earlier. Our server was completely a vibe, and had the best time with her! Between joking around and her awesome customer service! She had the most insightful recommendations on the menu even when we thought we knew it pretty well. Tbh wishing we all did not live so far away and could make it our hang out spot. At one point we even talked to the Event Coordinator as she informed us about their availability to do parties and work events at the location. As always the food was delicious as always! The timing of our drinks and food was impeccable. The brisket queso hit the spot since we were all ready to munch down. Obviously the specialty are burgers, so it is nice to go to a place that will make medium rare burgers and they’re actually perfect temp. Everything was fresh and of course their burger bun is home run.. it tastes delicious, does not sog up and it doesn’t fall apart. The garlic parm fries are a must here, I shared a plate of fries as they are a good amount. Wishing they had the larger plate still available as they had larger portion but it was taken off the menu. The drinks did not disappoint either, I had the spiked Arnold Palmer and had one of the margaritas from the margarita flight. The margaritas are all pretty good as I’ve had the flight before. I think the prickly pear is one of my favorites.
I’ve tried most of the restaurants nearby and LSA Burger is a must if you are in the...
