I’ve come here a couple of times after work with friends, and honestly, both experiences were just not great. The first time we came, our waitress was clearly new which I totally understand, we’ve all been there. The Toast system can be confusing, and she was super sweet, just didn’t seem familiar with the menu or drink options. No big deal. We ordered, got our drinks and mozz sticks, and then… didn’t see her again for a while. Even after we finished our drinks and were ready for another round, we had to wait quite a bit. We eventually ordered a few more rounds, and to avoid dragging things out, I just offered to pay the whole bill myself so she wouldn’t have to figure out how to split it since that had already been a process. At checkout, I mentioned I had a $10 gift card. She left to ask someone how to use it and came back saying something like “It didn’t work.” At that point, I was just ready to leave, so I paid and left. Then on the drive home, I realized she never gave me the card back so that was a nice little cherry on top. Second time we came, different waitress, but a similar vibe very sweet, but clearly new and a little frazzled. Again, I get it, it’s a sports bar, I don’t expect a fine dining experience. But when I say the service felt unprofessional, I mean she literally handed us her Toast device so we could input our own stuff. Like… babe, I just clocked out from my 8-hour shift, I’m not trying to do your job too. To be fair, she was kind the whole time, and so was the previous server. But the lack of training really showed. We had a party of six this time, and by the end of the meal, we had stacked all our empty cups and plates at the end of the table to make it easy to clear… and they just sat there. The whole time. I almost wish I had taken a picture. It looked so bad and cluttered, but again I didn’t say anything, so maybe that’s on me. At checkout, we asked to split the bill and went slow so she could take her time and get it right. I also had one of those free mozz stick cards from filling out their online survey last time. I handed it to her and she said, “Okay, let me go get that taken off.” I figured it was handled. She came back, asked if we were ready to check out, handed us the Toast, and… the mozz sticks were still on there. I reminded her, and she literally just laughed. I was so done at that point, I just paid for them and again didn’t get my card back. Of course I still tipped because I know how hard the job can be but I left feeling like… damn, I just got played again. The place itself has a great vibe loud, lively sports bar energy. The food’s decent (not a food critic, but I’m easily impressed), and the desserts are honestly fire. And I want to emphasize: the staff is friendly. But the service… that’s the issue. I think with better training and support, it could be a great spot. But after two rough visits in a row, I don’t think I’ll be back. Anytime someone mentions this place now, I just kind...
Read moreIt had been a while since I last ate here. However, I needed a spot to eat with friends and watch college football. Walk-Ons suited the bill. However, I remembered the food being good.
There's plenty of parking, but it does get crowded because it's a large shopping area. When I walked in, I was greeted immediately. However, my friends were already seated, so we walked right to the table they were at. The service was good. We got our drinks and cocktails pretty quickly. The main entrees took about 18 minutes or so to come out of the kitchen.
The food was good, especially for a sports bar/ restaurant. I ate the Bayou Pasta, which consists of crawfish cream sauce, fried shrimp, and linguine. This was a very good entree in which all the seafood ingredients come together wonderfully flavor-wise. The shrimp was well-fried and had a spicy kick to it. The crawfish had good flavor. The sauce was well done and had a rich flavor. The linguine pasta was missing something maybe pepper and salt? I couldn't tell exactly. However, I enjoyed my meal to the end. My wife had the Cajun Ribeye served medium which came with mashed potatoes. I had a few bites and I can say the meat could have been cooked more since it was more 9n the raw side. The quality and flavor of the meat aren't high. This steak definitely needed more seasoning. This is the New Orleans part of the menu and their food is well seasoned and rich in seasoning! You don't want to skimp on the seasoning!
However, I will be back because I enjoy the atmosphere, the multiple TVs with awesome viewing angles from your seat, and the service at this...
Read moreReally hate giving bad reviews especially at a new place but the only reason this place received a 2 from us is because the atmosphere is definitely a Sports Bar, everyone was friendly and our waitress was great. Too be really honest, this place really needs to take the cajun side off their menu. First we ordered the boom boom shrimp, that battered shrimp was so thick, too be honest it had to be the Louisiana batter box that you can buy from the grocery store, it's very salty and cakes up really thick. The Shrimp inside the batter had no flavor at all, peel the batter off and taste it yourself, you'll taste no flavor or cajun what's so ever. Second, my wife ordered the creole pasta shrimp, who puts fried shrimp on a creole pasta for one thing, she pushed the shrimp off and the pasta was so bland with no type of season or cajun taste at all. Third, I ordered the Cajundillas. Definitely full of meat but not a bit of flavor or season at all. Oh and the dip for it was so bland I could've used at least some Hidden Vallen Ranch. Once again, no cajun spice or flavor at all! Like I said this place rocks if you like the sports bar friendly staff atmosphere. But please don't go for the cajun food, maybe the other food like burgers and stuff like that is good, that's if the cook added some kind of seasoning to the food. Oh there's a small place called Mud Bugs in Frisco that has awesome cajun food and mix drinks. But once again Walk-On’s Sports Bar atmosphere is definitely the place to be for some...
