Speaking as someone who hasnt been in a Dennys in a while this one is in need of a surprise inspection....broken locks on the bathroom sunken booth seating and just an all around cold musty feel gave our Thanksgiving visit a anxious get our food and get out feel. The barage of waitresses more interested in taking our order than picking up a towel and cleaning something definitely gave the impression that when the place is empty theres probably a lot of leaning and less cleaning. It wasn't that it was bad it just wasn't that good and my dad's meal consisted of what he said tasted like French toast scrambled eggs for his omelette like a sweet taste that shouldn't be in an omelette he was extremely displeased with that the atrocious prices they think their stuff is worth is comical $3 for a 16 oz soda that didn't even get refilled is just outrageous. My meal was less than especially for the prices. Do you want to jack up your prices and prove the quality of your food Denny's has never been high quality but it's never been this high in price. They kept elaborating that they were using a holiday menu which was limited and that was discouraging because it should have been a full menu option as empty as it was in there. Overall it's not a place I'll go back to until they either clean up their act or drop the prices. We were felt to be rushed out the door especially when in a half hour's time of being there three different waitresses came up to take our order like they didn't have their own section that was kind of confusing. We did like our first an initial waitress she wasn't as pushy and she was more than happy to accommodate but the other two just seemed like they didn't want to clean so they were floating around trying to take people's order making...
Read moreI love Denny's but Denny's in The Dalles is just AWEFUL. It wasn't even the fact that the server dumped my iced coffee all over me that did it. I cleaned myself up and sorta laughed it off, accidents happen. It was everything after. After cleaning myself up as much as i could we moved to a dry table. The server was super nice and very apologetic and promised to not charge us for our drinks, to make up for the accident. All good til our food arrived. That's when he lost his would be tip. The brisket was literally charcoal, not a chewable shred of meat inside or out. The portion of mac n cheese was ridiculous, tasted like rusty metal and looked like it'd been sitting on the skillet for quite awhile. And then as he's watching me clunk a piece of charcoaled brisket down on my plate he makes it a point to let us know we'd have to pay for refills of our drinks if we wanted any. Well, we didn't want refills but I was a server for alot of years and let me tell you, I would never ever have taken that plate of food out to a customer, it was disgusting. You never serve your customer anything you wouldnt eat and i honestly wouldnt have given it to my dog. Plus if I had ever dumped an entire iced coffee on somebody, the least I would do for them is give them free refills all night long if they wanted. I don't like to complain and my husband and I were both too exhausted from being on the road all day we just paid and left. But the more I thought about it the more I wish we would have had the energy to be that "karen". We will never ever stop there again! We did have breakfast at Denny's in Hermiston though and that was...
Read moreI normally don’t write reviews and if I do they are good review. But today and I know today is Christmas so I appreciate the staffs who are working there. But management kinda failed today. I didn’t mind the wait because short staffs and it’s Christmas. But my wife and I were very patient. We got seated after 5 mins waiting. Then two big groups sat down after us. One of the the two big groups gotten their order taken. Which I think it’s odd but I found out that we have a different server. So that’s fine. By this time we wait for around 20-25 mins already. Then we have a new server came in to help but she was told to take the order from the other big group who came after us. After that she came to us and us. By now we waited for 35-40 mins. I asked politely “how come you came to the other table first before us because We sat down way before them” she said I just came in and was told to take the order of the other one first. Of course by this time the kitchen is backed up, which is expected. It would be another 45 mins wait for the food. So let me clarify, I’m also a server in the food industry so I understand the wait. And we would be more than happy to wait because we know how it is when it’s busy. But management couldn’t organize to get the table sat down first to get their order taken first is a no no for me. When I run my restaurant, I make sure that the people who came first get their orders and food first. If we can’t do that we would apologize and ask if it’s ok if we give the orders to the later person first. This is disappointing. But merry...
