I have been coming to this McDonald's for decades. I wrote a review 6 years ago that's below this updated one. I live in Homewood and graduated from Homewood-Flossmoor Highschool. I previously wrote a review for the other McDonald's in Homewood on Kedzie. I stated my displeasure to the overall low quality service throughout the years. This location is a minor step up. For the most part I have not had many issues coming here overall.
There was an incident I experienced a few months ago, where a manager was trying to forcibly not allow me to leave. I filled my water bottle up with water. I did not get his name, however he threatened to call the police on me. I fill out the survey receipt religiously. I do not understand why a manager would treat a loyal McRewards remember in that fashion. It has left a very bad taste in my mouth.
This McDonald's used to be 24 hours, and I would come here late at night to do deliveries for 'Doordash'. An issue I MUST STATE, is how McDonald's (as an overall corporation) handles food delivery orders. Every single McDonald's prepares the order as soon as it comes in their system. The issue is, my 'Doordash' rating would go down when I did McDonald's orders. Most people that order McDonald's, cannot afford to tip. Thus most drivers refuse the orders, then the food gets cold until some driver decides to finally deliver. It would be much better if the order was not made until the driver arrived at the restaurant. That way it guarantees the customer would receive the food at the utmost freshest. McDonald's is known for inventing and revolutionizing the fast food industry. Innovation is abundant and evident. McDonald's initial mission's business model is structured off making people's orders fresh and ready to go.
Also I would like to state, that I utilize the McRewards app all the time. It is a hassle to have to do the survey on the MCD Voice website. It often stops working for no apparent reason. You have a perfectly functioning app that is a much better option. It would be nice if y'all considered changing this operation the moving forward. The receipts that are printed out are sometimes very hard to read, and the ink fades within the day or two. Once that happens it is impossible to read the long survey code that we need to provide. A scannable QR code or barcode would be much better. This would make the survey experience much more convenient. Lastly, there is a 'Character Limit' in the comment section. 1,200 characters is not enough to properly illustrate if I had any kind of significant issue or concern. Removing the 'Character Limit' is for the best.
Ultimately with this restaurant, I will give them a five star for right now. Please keep up the good work.
Previous Review 6 years ago : Hey its a McDonald's. Like all McD's they sell low quality unhealthy food packed with chemicals and preservatives to fool you into thinking that just because it's cheap it's ok to eat.
This particular location give the same low quality service that all McDonald's give. During the day they keep the line moving, but at night they only have 2 people working. You will sit there forever. You better check your order before driving off, because they will not hesitate to give you stale old food or totally botch your order.
I don't understand why it's McDonald's will to feed the public poison food. It's a foul business plan. They have all the resources to change the fast food industry and feed the masses with healthy food. Just a reflection of our society that is more focused on quantity as...
Read moreHad an issue with the McDonalds app. which I know is NOT the restaurants fault, but the way it was handled was extremely rude and unprofessional! The young man in the drive-thru simply replied "I can't do anything about that" repeatedly as he looked past me as If to say "please get the heck out of my driveway line". I went inside to speak with the manager and she was worse than the kid in the drive-thru. She didn't even want to look at the error I was getting and basically said "sorry" and walked away. Please keep in mind I had a 15 minute window of time to get back to my work location to re-open the store which led to me NOT having lunch that day. I even went as far as calling their corporate office(which I never do) and she listened, apologized and said she would send out a couple free sandwich coupons. I NEVER GOT THE COUPONS and it's been about 3 weeks! This wasn't the first time I've had issues with their drive-thru, but this time hit harder because I was pressed for time and never got to eat lunch. I still go there for my coffee only(I love McDonalds coffee) but I refuse to spend my money at that location for anything else! I even tell all my customers about my experience whenever I get the chance. Thank you corporate office for truly taking care of an...
Read moreI had to do an update.. it's been a while since I visited this location.. This morning I stopped to get a bagel breakfast sandwich with Extra Extra onions.. I paid over 6 bucks for just the sandwich. I get to the cashier made certain it was correct , go to pick it up they ask me to pull around. I said no problem but I ask the young lady at the window to make sure they add my extra, extra onions she said "They got it". Manager brings my sandwich out I say wait I want to check it. Instant attitude. I check it not only are there no extra onions but not a single onion to be found.. Now I'm telling her and she's telling me there are onions.. I showed her the sandwich and said show me.. she couldn't find 1. Then she says maybe it's not on the ticket. But nope there it was in big black lettering extra, extra onion.. She had the nerve to have a whole attitude!! Your staff or you made an error FIX IT WITHOUT THE ATTITUDE. ITS CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE!What irritates me with this and other fast food restaurants is that you can be in their drive thru for 15/20 minutes. You place yr order specify you want yr food cooked fresh, you wait again then they still give you like warm food; And with an attitude, like they're doing you a favor. Employee training...
