Dutch Bros Coffee — Restaurant in Tigard

I wanted to share my disappointing experience I had at this locations on August 25th, 2025, at approximately 12:15 PM. I was initially excited to find a Dutch Bros so close to my new job, especially since I’m a regular customer and have always appreciated the friendly service. Unfortunately, during this visit, the employee taking orders outside was noticeably rude and dismissive. When I attempted to order a sugar-free drink for a coworker and used the word “refresher,” the employee responded with visible frustration, stating that “refresher” is a Starbucks term and not something Dutch Bros offers. I explained that I was simply reading the order as it was given to me, but she cut me off by giving me my total before I had finished ordering. When I mentioned I had another drink to add, she told me I needed to “speak up” because cars were passing and she couldn’t hear me — in a tone that felt unnecessarily harsh and unprofessional. This interaction was disappointing and out of line with the positive, welcoming energy I’ve come to expect from Dutch Bros. I left feeling disrespected and uncomfortable, and I don’t plan to return to this particular location because of it. Someone gave me a gift card to Dutch Bros, so I decided to swing in when I drove past today as there was no line in the drive thru, and I needed a pick-me-up.

The young man and woman who were working the window around lunchtime were super helpful in assisting me in picking something out since I was unfamiliar with their product offerings, and eventually I settled on the perfect drink for this early February day in the PNW that can’t make up its mind whether it wants to remain overcast or possibly let in a small hint of sun (come on, Portland, you can do it! I believe in you!!).

But sun, or no sun, at least now I have a delightful Irish Cream coffee beverage in my hands to help me power through the rest of the work day. Thanks, DB!

One side note… This particular location is a bit confusing to get to, as you actually have to pass it a ways in order to get to the only entrance point to the access road that it’s located off of, then make a sharp right turn back toward it. So it’s easy to miss if you’re not careful. Better signage might help to alleviate some of...

I visited my first Dutch Bros. ever today. I went to the location in Tigard, OR off the 99. I explained to the barista that I had never been before and he helped me pick out something I would like. I got to the window to pick up my order and the entire staff clapped, cheered and welcomed me as a new customer. They explained their values and that if I was not satisfied with my drink to come back and get a new one on the house. What an AMAZING experience. Starbucks and all other coffee shops can really use a lesson from this location on customer service. What a great staff. I ended up getting an Americano with caramel and crème and it was amazing coffee. I will definitely be taking the extra 10 minutes to go out of my way to come here instead of Starbucks. You definitely have a new frequent customer. Thank you for making my first experience at Dutch Bros....
