We gone to the Lego store a few times, but yesterday our experience was just beyond outstanding and I have to share about it. The store was VERY busy yesterday, but several of the employees were very kind. One employee was at this little table when you walk in and there are built Lego sets there that kids can check out and play with a bit, and the employee that was there played with my son with the legos they had there and that was just awesome I thought. And then, another employee was kind enough to open one of the cases where they had a Darth Vader robot built and my son (7) is very particular about the head and helmet on the minifigures, but they opened the case for him to check it out and see it before I bought him a set. And not only did this employee open the case for my son to look at it up close, but they were also kind enough to give us an extra Darth Vader minifigure head after they had learned my son's had gone down the drain on accident. Our overall experience yesterday was just absolutely amazing, despite the store being so busy. The employee they had at the door controlling the amount of people that came into the store was also very kind. Highly recommend the Lego store at Washington Square. Their staff seems...
Read moreWalking into the Lego Store at Washington Square on a Saturday afternoon is like stepping onto the battlefield of creativity, kids everywhere, shelves stacked high, and the air alive with the click-clack of bricks locking into destiny. Yes, the kid crowd was thick, but that’s part of the quest.
The selection was fantastic, and as any seasoned builder knows, becoming a VIP member is the only way to play the long game (those rewards add up faster than my excuses at checkout). Each kid grabbed their kit (with some sage guidance), and I, of course, secured a kit or two (or three) for myself, because dads need Lego therapy too, and I'm paying the bill!
By the end of the hunt, the pile at the counter was impressive enough that we all agreed on a noble strategy: hide the receipt from my wife… and maybe hide a couple of kits too. (Don’t worry, honey, these bricks are “for the kids and an investment.”)
Verdict: this store is pure temptation in plastic form. If you’re brave enough to face the Saturday crowd, you’ll come out with treasure, stories, and a secret stash of Lego boxes that you’ll definitely need to smuggle past the front door. Worth...
Read moreCommon sense goes along way when working in customer service. Good luck getting into this place. Two examples from the two times I tried getting in. Waited in line for over 30 min. 4 people ahead of me and about 6 people behind me. The worker starts at the BACK of the line and gives them a time to come back to get in right away. So the people that just got in line behind me had come back times from 15 min to am hour. Mind you I have been in line a he'll of a lot longer yet I have to wait 2 hours before I can come back!! Wth. One shopper in the store and the guy says I can come back in 45 min. I stand outside the store watching for about 10 min , now store is empty. I tell the guy I already know what I am getting it Is 6 past the hour meaning the next appointment time is atleast 4 min away. Would not do it. Walked into the Van store across the store. Come back out 10 min later and store had 2 people. So you rather have a empty store that actually sell. If people do not show up at the time you give them let others in. I just dont understand people's...
