The waiter presented nice and our seating was fine. The issue becomes that when I asked the size of the salad, the waiter described it is large with about a 10” wide spread. I explained that due to physical inability to consume a large amount of food because of a medical condition, if I could order half a salad or if there was a child menu item that would be more to the size. I was rejected for a request for half a salad and advised that I was not allowed to order from the child’s menu because I was an adult. With no other options available per the waiter, I refused to order any food for myself because I would not want to waste a bunch of food. It has NOTHING to do with the cost. It’s the size of the serving. At the beginning when the waiter asked for our drink order, I asked for ice water with a straw. My companion asked for a soda. When the waiter brought the soda and water, they provided my companion with a straw and then asked me, “Do you want a straw?” I responded, “Please, I’m the one that asked for a straw.” Super disappointed in my visit to this Red’s and probably going to tell everyone I know about this lack of regard for medical condition request. I physically can’t consume more than about 5 ounces. Do I have to go into grave detail of my medical condition for them to understand this? Talk about feel discriminated against because I asked for a smaller portion size and literally said it was do to a medical condition. Thanks Red’s for making me feel welcome. I would have gladly paid full price. I just didn’t want to be served a large amount of food I have to through out. And before you ask or say anything, I was on a road trip and unable to...
Read moreI have ordered from Red Robin for years now. Back many years ago, the food was high quality and was my favorite place for a quality burger. Over the years I noticed the quality of the food degrading, the buns were replaced with cheaply store bought bread, the burger quality had less of their authetic taste, but still was somewhat passable to order every once in a while with a coupon. Flash forward to today (September 27th, 2020).... I had the worst experience I would never expect from this once well loved and favorite restaurant. I brought home 40 dollars of takeout food for 2 people, and was served nothing but leftover food. The food came completley stale, including the pretzel bites and steak fries. The steak fries had none of the signature Red Robin seasoning which I did not ask to be removed. I don't ever like wasting food, but the fries were so unbearably stale I had to throw out. The burger which I ordered with "a little pink" was almost entirely raw. Once again I did not want to waste, but my stomach hurt afterwards. Bad idea. The chips I ordered did not taste right as well, horrid aftertaste. I waited about an hour for the food to be done, to recieve a rushed order of leftovers. I cannot believe the quality of service I was given tonight and am very disappointed Red Robin. I hope you can do better, so this does not happen to anyone else. You have lost my trust, and a what used to be happy customer. I will not be coming back anymore, and will be spending my hard earned money on takeout to a place that genuinely cares about...
Read moreRestaurants are in a tough spot at the moment. Staffing has been an issue at so many establishments that at this point I've accepted it to be a reality for the foreseeable future.
However, as bad as staffing is, I too have worked with the public during the pandemic and never has there been an excuse not to at least attempt to put the customers first.
When we entered Red Robin for dinner, we immediately felt like we were a bit of a burden to the staff. They seemed exhausted and not organized at all. The host had to constantly ask other staff what the situation was and were answered as if we weren't standing there. It wasn't very inviting.
I get it. It's difficult to put on a game face and have some grace when dealing with uncertainty, but more effort could have been made to welcome us rather than making us feel like it was going to be an ordeal.
When we did get sat down though, the wait staff was excellent. They were very attentive and pleasant.
The burgers were good. They're always tasty. If you're sensitive to seeing pink, ask for very well done, as the standard well done is still pretty light, but I like mine that way.
The place was clean, as they do a great job at making the tables ready for you before sitting down.
Are there better places to eat around Beaverton/Tigard? Of course. But this place is very family friendly and you know what you're getting here. It's not too expensive either. Just don't expect Red Robin to be on any top 10...
