ETA May 2024 (prev review was 8/2023): Well, I guess when you grow too big for your britches, and change to a different location (parking still sucks, so your move didn't even make sense), your business model, service and, especially, the food suffer.
I was sooo looking forward to having a juicy, single smashbuger (the only one I've ever ordered - I believe they call it the American/classic, or something like that).
Sadly, it was literally so thin I could see thru it in some areas (see pics), esp the edges.
Furthermore, it was very dry (cooked beyond all recognition), and the patty was hardly detectable in the sandwich. I only asked for lettuce, onion, and pickle (aside from condiments, which were cowboy sauce & mustard).
The only saving grace is the reasonable price with fries and a drink. The fries were still hot & tasty, so at least I got satisfaction from those.
This visit was a HUGE disappointment. I will give them one more try before I stop wasting my money on food (a thin, dry burger) I could get at a FF "restaurant." I don't mean to be harsh, but the burger was worse than my worst experience at Culver's with one of their "butter burgers." The patty on this burger was as bad as the last one I ate at Culver's over SIX years ago. I don't mind paying $15 for a burger meal, but... it better be good, and better than what I can get at Culver's, or any other FF restaurant (where I do NOT order burgers any longer).
I want to support small businesses, and this 3rd visit to Burger Robs left a bad "taste" in my mouth.
I tried to use the link on my receipt to provide private feedback, and, of course, that didn't work.
I still have my receipt for anyone at BR's who cares to entertain this updated review.
Lastly, if I may suggest: when someone pays cash, I'd highly rec teaching your cashiers to give change, which makes it easier to throw a dollar, two, or three in the tip jar. When someone hands her a $20 bill, for a $13.50 meal, before taxes, don't expect someone to leave a 50% tip - tell her to give change in $1 bills to make it easier. Sorry... I don't mind being generous, and no customer is obligated to leave a tip on counter service, much less 50%....
If y'all can figure out a way for me to message u the info on my receipt, I'll tell u anything u wanna know....
Previous review: Sorry, no pics bc I immediately started shoveling the American cheeseburger in my face. The burgers are cooked to perfection, juicy, tasty, and customizable to your preference unless you get a custom burger 😉. I adorned my cheeseburger with cowboy sauce, lettuce, perfectly shaved, thin raw onion, extra pickels & jalapeños. It's one of the best burgers I've had, hot & fresh.
The fries seem handcut and come out hot, slightly crispy on the outside & tender inside. My only, very small issue, is they seem a bit heavy-handed salting the fries (as someone else stated). Therefore, even though I like to ensure my fries have enough salt, I'd probably ask for them lightly salted next time, bc u can always add more, but u can't take it away. Price is reasonable ($15-$20) for what you get, depending, considering it comes out fast, hot & fresh.
I don't live in Tville, but I'll def visit this little gem again. There's not a lot of seating, and that can be problematic during busy times, but it's worth it, nonetheless.
Well, it's been well over a month, and I guess the owners/mgr can't be bothered with responding or trying to make things...
Read moreIf you've never been here, you're doing yourself a huge disservice. From the time we arrived to the time we left, it was a wonderful experience! The menu has something for everyone, yet it's not overly long. What it DOES have is some of the best burgers you'll come across EVER!!
I had the onion burger with a third patty, my wife had the Alamo burger. One of the best characteristics of a smash burger is the edges brown up and very slightly crisp up. They do this little trick to perfection. The toppings on the specialty burgers are wonderful in a couple of ways - the ingredients are top quality and they put just enough of them on to compliment the meat, not overwhelm it. That in itself shows they know what they're doing! Ironically, there's ketchup on the table. A properly seasoned and prepared burger never needs ketchup, yet it's here for you in case you want to ruin your meal!
The fries are great enough to make a meal out of them alone! They are SO crispy yet the insides are very tender. You get a LOT of them too. My wife ordered a regular size fries. I went to order a large and was told that they are huge - twice the size of a small size. They were exactly right. There were more than enough in that basket to satisfy THREE people! The taste is unbelievably good too. You taste the fries, not the oil they were cooked in.
As if this weren't enough, every single person we met behind the counter was a very genuine wonderful person. They made you feel welcome when you arrived, help explain the menu & portions, and were honestly concerned that your meal was excellent and that you were enjoying it.
Folks, THIS is how you run a small business. My only regret is that it was time to go!! I wish Burger Rob's all the good times and success...
Read moreI’ve loved their food since the beginning when they were only a food truck serving hundreds of people in line. I’m very happy that they decided to expand to a brick and mortar location in addition to the truck. If you’re in the area you have to check them out! Warning their parking sucks so you may have to park far away and walk but it’s worth it. Also I suggest going when they first open as the crowd isn’t that bad.
They cook up some of the best smash burgers! Now that they are in a permanent location they offer more of a variety - hotdogs, fries and soon to come Mexican fruit pies. You may be saying what so special about a hotdog but it’s not just any old hot dog. Their hotdogs come with several unique toppings depending upon your taste. Same with the fries. They have a few options for toppings. The Mexican street corn sweet potato fries are literally life changing! Think everything that comes on Mexican street corn topped on sweet potato fries with a lime wedge. Can you say party in your mouth??? Lol!!!
Some of my favorite burgers are the Hawaii 5 Ohhh, Grilled Onion and any of their special burgers that they create during the week. Today I tried their homemade Pimento Cheese smasher. The young lady at the register told me that each day they offered this burger, they have sold out so I had to try it. It came with homemade pimento cheese, bacon, homemade sweet and spicy pickles and American cheese. Need I say more? The flavors were perfectly paired.
You can dine in or take your order to go. They offer soft drinks and several different beers, Mexican sodas and wine to enjoy. They have coke fountain drinks and offer free refills. Can’t wait to return to try more...
