While back in town visiting family, my mom and I came to Sabira for dinner on one of my last evenings. She made a reservation for the two of us and we absolutely enjoyed everything about our experience. Our waiter was extremely kind and attentive, and the atmosphere is upscale chic without being highbrow. I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant, especially for Toledo standards.
To start, my mom and I shared the lamb meatballs, which were some of the best meatballs I have ever had. And what goes better with meatballs, then some delicious freshly baked bread and garlic butter?!
Before entrées, we split the beet salad and it was phenomenal. For my entrée, I ordered the carbonara which came with delicious freshly made pasta, while my mom ordered the Cacio E Pepe. Both pasta dishes were superb.
To finish, we split the chocolate meringue cake. It was a unique dessert, and I appreciated the upscale flair to it. All in all, from start to finish this was an incredible meal, and I hope Sabira has a long and successful...
Read moreI was so excited to try this new restaurant because Souk is my favorite and I knew it was going to be good. The mediterranean Italian mashup works so well together. We got the mushroom flatbread, pork belly, lamb and carbonara. The pork belly and lamb were probably the best I’ve ever had! Since visiting Italy last summer my husband and I have been on the hunt for good carbonara. Unfortunately for me it was a little too much pepper but my husband loved it. The pasta tasted like homemade, but I didn’t ask if it was so I am not 100% sure on that.
For those of you looking to make a resy and not sure what the difference is between the dining room, living room and bar, here is what my understanding is…
Bar = self explanatory. You’re seated at the bar. Dining room = there are tables down a long wall and a few booths and high tops. Living room = there are about 4 tables right when you walk in with beautiful tufted chairs. It’s also directly in front of...
Read moreSabira, next door to it's sister restaurant Souk. Our first visit and absolutely not our last, so nice having two excellent restaurants next door to each other.
We started with Baba Ghanoush Arancini with arriabiata and parmesan, next, the roasted beet salad with whipped ricotta and arugula. Main dishes- Amatriciana guanciale, & Cacio e pepe. Finished with a perfect pot of French Press Coffee. Very enjoyable dining experience. There were a few issues; the guanciale was over cooked and salty (although the pasta and sauce were perfectly cooked with great flavor!) Although the Cacio e pepe was fantastic, it was a bit too oily. Our server was warm and very friendly, but lacked a deep knowledge of the menu. Again great service, great atmosphere, we look forward to...
