This is kind of a hard review to do. We have eaten here 3 times so far, and every time something has been wrong. They have always fixed the problem by taking it off our bill, but in doing so, we don't get to taste what a non wrong product tastes like.
We ate upstairs, and our waiter/bartender was very friendly. Upstairs started to pick up in business a bit, and if we wanted refills, we took it to the bar ourselves. I'm not sure if that's something that happens all the time there, but it really wasn't much of a hassle for us.
We went on a Tuesday, which is half price, any pizza night. Great deal. We got there early, and there weren't too many people there. Being half priced night, we wanted to try a few things we haven't had before. We ordered Ethan Stew bread with banana peppers as an appetizer. As for pizza, we ordered a large DeCarlo, a large cheese/half pepperoni, and a personal Margherita pizza.
The Ethan Stew bread had a great flavor, and the feta cheese was great on top. Unfortunately, only a couple of pieces were actually cooked all the way through. Most of the pieces were completely uncooked. The cheese was melted on top, and that's about as far as the cooked portion went for most of the pieces. It was taken back, and since it was Tuesday, they said it would be a while before a new one could be done. We opted to have it taken off our bill. I really wish this would have been cooked, as it was the best tasting item we had.
The DeCarlo, which is cream cheese, cheese, chicken, bacon, BBQ sauce, a little hot sauce, and cheddar cheese, was not too bad. This was our first time trying this pizza. I didn't think it was bad, but to me, it was just ok. I couldn't taste the bbq sauce or the hot sauce, and the bacon took over the rest of the flavor of the pizza. My wife thought that bacon was the only flavor that she could taste on the pizza.
Our kids order a cheese pizza with half pepperoni. Our youngest is pretty picky on pizza, and he loved the cheese. It's not often he eats everything, and he was pretty close to eating 3 full slices. Our other kid ate the pepperoni and liked that as well.
We ordered a personal Margherita pizza pretty much just to try it. The pizza has olive oil, garlic, mozzarella, tomato, and basil. This is one that we won't be trying again. There were too many diced tomatoes on it, and it overpowered the rest of the pizza. That is until the after taste kicks in. Then it was straight garlic for at least an hour after we left. While some may like it, it just wasn't for us.
While it wasn't the best experience, we would more than likely give it another shot. The half priced pizza Tuesday makes for a great deal. I would recommend giving the place a try, especially on a Tuesday.
*side note, this place offers outside...
Read moreToward closing time, my friends and I ordered 2 pies and some drinks upstairs to which I handed the bartender my credit card and stated we would be out on the patio. We went outside for a bit and after about 30 minutes I decided to go back to the bar to check on my order. I found our pizzas were being eaten by a young group of patrons to which I found my credit card with a signed receipt in front of a young man at the bar. The stranger admitted to signing my credit card receipt upon questioning even thought he knew it was not his credit card. The bartender was apologetic and said he gave my credit card and receipt to the strange man because he said he was me when asked. This was either gross negligence on the bartenders part or the two are friends and have some credit card racket in the works. The young man who signed my credit card receipt was also overly apologetic and offered to buy my food and a drink to which I refused. I was promised I would not be charged the cost of the order to which I discovered my card had already been processed using the signature from the stranger. very poor service and very poor first time experience. I have had to go through my credit card company and file a fraud complaint and cancel my card as another patron was granted unrestricted access to my credit card information. ease he said he was me. Not to mention there was only the young party and our party upstairs at the time. For my trouble the young ladies with the young gentleman who fraudulently signed my credit card receipt felt the need to voice their opposition to my complaint. They exhibited extremely low class and poor manners. Overall, worst experience I have ever had at a restruant/bar. Will never go back and will do my best to keep friends away from this...
Read moreEDIT while I appreciate the response, I VERY highly doubt the issue was handled properly, if it all. It’s the same complaints being made about the same people. Open your eyes man. Your business is not living up to its potential solely because of the type of people you have running your restaurant. Who knows if it’s even the actual owner responding to reviews. Probably so far gone on how the business is even going that the managers we’re all complaining about are the one responsible for handling reviews.
I was in there last week and while the service and food were nice, there was some commotion going on in the kitchen between what I’m assuming was a manager and staff. I heard the one with the scraggly dark hair yell at an employee (this isn’t the first time I’ve been here to witness the same guy have his temper flare up at staff) and then again just a few minutes later yet ANOTHER manager was back there yelling at staff. I’m sure things were tough back there given it was a busy night but that’s no way to talk to the people who literally make your business operate for you. And there was absolutely no reason to talk to staff like that. Especially where it could be heard...
