I don’t know if I caught them on an off day or if I’m just well traveled. This was about the biggest rip off I’ve ever experienced regarding food. The ingredients were simple and fresh but the finished product is nothing short of bland and overpriced. For starters the sandwiches, they only offer wheat or white loaves, which are reminiscent of Walmart bakery. The deli meats, bacon, and meatballs were unrecognizable flavor wise. Condiments offered were only mayo and mustard, I am sorry but mayo should exclusively be used as a grilling agent, which they never did. The marinara from the meatballs had an extremely simple tomato paste taste, almost like a cheap ragú sauce. Soup of the day was a loaded potato soup, it tasted like potato but if you told me it was out of a can I would 100% believe you. The only redeemable qualities were the bacon crumble and cheese sprinkled on top, but come on? It’s bacon crumble. Finally the strawberry rhubarb pie, this was the biggest disappointment. The crust seemed underbaked due to it being doughy yet thin. The flavor profile of the filling was inadequately balanced, way too sour and not sweet enough to counteract it. The crumble was bland and oddly mushy. I paid almost $50 before tip for two 8 inch sandwiches, a cup of soup, and a slice of pie. All in all if this was a good meal I wouldn’t be complaining, but $50 for cafeteria/bus field trip...
Read moreIt's Thursday, November 28, 2024. Being Thanksgiving, we knew we'd be limited on what was available. After visiting Bisbee (awesome little town) we called around and Mom and Pop's was serving a limited variety. We moseyed on over, thinking about sandwich would be our Turkey Day dinner. We were surprised to find that the limited menu included a Thanksgiving dinner of turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, and green beans, with a fresh baked roll. They served us with a smile and told us rhank you for coming in. Let me tell ya, at $17.99 this meal did not disappoint. We took our meal to the gazebo, fellowshipped with other teachers from Cali and talked about our experiences. My wife said this was the best Thanksgiving she's had and the meal was outstanding. The dressing was moist, plenty of turkey, the green beans were spot on and I topped it off with a can of Doc Holliday. If there sandwiches are even half as good as the dinner then I'd highly recommend them. Friendly owners, fresh food, reasonably priced, and a...
Read moreOur Harvest Host proprietor mentioned this place to us when we arrived a few days ago so this evening we decided to give it a shot. It’s a simple sandwich place much like you see in the northeast. They have many fresh deli meats, cheeses, salads, hot and cold sandwiches and soft drinks.
I got a meatball sandwich and a cold cut sandwich with turkey, salami, bacon, provolone, lettuce, vinegar and salt pepper oregano. Both sandwiches were delicious. The meatballs were flavorful and the sauce tasted fresh. The bread soft and delicious. When my wife opened her cold cut sandwich the smell of the fresh ingredients immediately made both of us even more hungry. There was plenty of meat and it was exactly what she wanted. The bacon was nice and crispy. We’ll be back before our stay is over, probably...
