Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Town of Amherst

I had a taste for a philly cheesesteak and this location was close to where I work. I didn't research the menu, look anything up prior to getting there so I wasn't versed in how people order here. I just knew they sold a philly and here is the conversation I had with the gentleman taking my order.

Me: I would like a philly cheesesteak with just mushrooms and provolone, regular size on rosemary bread. Him: So you want a #62 or a #65 (I may be reporting the wrong numbers because who cares?) Me: Um, a regular philly? Him: Oh so you want a #65? Me: Uh, sure. Just a regular philly with mushrooms and provolone cheese. Him: Oh so you really want a #66? Me: I don't know man, I just want a regular philly with mushrooms and provolone cheese. Him: Oh, wait, that isn't listed on the menu. Me: shrugs

I get a philly with mushrooms on white with swiss cheese.

The main part about customer service is just "active listening" to your customer. It's important not to get so wrapped in what you know and understand that not everyone sees the menu or how you do things the way you do.

Pretty sure this guy was the manager to and it was clear he was just not in the mindset to work. I hope whatever you're struggling from gets resolved soon, you looked really overwhelmed.

Absolutely loved their food. I’m not typically a big cold cuts fan however, these subs are to die for. I got the #5 The Super Sub on the rosemary Parmesan bread, which is: provolone, ham, prosciuttini and cappacuolo. I also got it “Mikes way” which is onions, lettuce, tomato, spices and ‘juice’ (olive oil and vinegar). I also add mayo. My fiancé got the #17 Jersey Mike’s Famous Philly which comes with grilled onions, peppers and melted mozzarella cheese. He also added lettuce and mayo on his sub. Both subs were amazing. They tasted extremely fresh and were super flavourful. The staff were also extremely polite. The location is quite small so there wasn’t any free tables for us to sit at. Prices are decent. I ordered 3 chicken subs, when my family & I got home to eat we noticed they were salty. I called the store and spoke with Stephanie who said she was a Team Lead. She said to me “ well we don’t put salt on our subs so…. There’s nothing I can do about it “ I responded “so I’m letting you know my food was definitely salty and you’re telling me basically oh well there’s nothing you can/ will do about it ?” She said “yes , I don’t know what you want me to do .” It’s really unfortunate that a restaurant would give you bad food and then say oh well deal with it is crazy.
