11/19/17: So, we’ve already been to the transit location and had a really weird experience with bad food on top of that. A lot of people said we should give it another shot because of their experiences.
We went to east aurora and tried this location. Got there, and were seated promptly. Our waitress was nice and took our beer order.
We ordered 2 different flights. Our waitress came back with 2 flights that were in no particular order so we couldn’t recognize which beer belonged to who. This was not the waitress’s fault, but the bartender should know enough not to mix up people flights. No brainer there. Ok, that’s weird but move on.
Noticed my side plate still had dried food on it. Put that to the side. It was taken away but I was not brought a clean replacement. Not the worst thing in the world but also weird.
Got our appetizer and didn’t come with ketchup. Mind you we had chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, fries and onion rings...stuff that ketchup would have been really good for. Mind you, we were dining in and the 3 condiments that did come were in pre-portioned plastic cups with the lids on them. The BBQ sauce was pretty much a drop. I stuck a fry in there and maybe 1 cm of the fry came out with BBQ sauce on it. Annoying but not the end of the world. Add that to the list.
My entree arrived shortly after that. I ordered the tuna dinner. It was almost completely raw and was no warmer than room temperature. It was supposed to be served on a bed of rice. Problem with that was there was so much liquid (whatever the topping was) in the plate that it turned into rice soup. That was my last straw.
I got up and went to the hostess station and asked if a manager was available. The response I received was “well...kinda. How can I help you?” I asked if she was the manager and she said she wasn’t. I once again asked for the manager and she finally got someone.
I was then approached by Bob who was not the manager but the senior employee working. I explained all this to him and told him we were all set and just wanted to leave.
The waitress was nice and apologized about the experience stating she was embarrassed by how the food came out.
Thankfully they didn’t make us pay for anything considering the entire experience but 2 tries was enough. There are way too many great places in Buffalo to keep giving one restaurant chances to...
Read moreI was very excited to be here as it was my first time. The place was elegant and nicely decorated, but then they had dead plants as decor right where you walked in, and that made me feel kind of sad for them. We ordered drinks, appetizers, and entrees as well as desserts, and I have to say their food is on the spicey side. The lobster curry soup had a great flavor, but I felt it was over powered with heat and wish I saw that when I ordered it, but then ate some corn fritters and those absolutely stole the show! The best corn fritters I've ever had! Absolutely delicious. I then ordered their signature mac with some steak, and it is smoked gouda, so you have to be a gouda fan. I enjoyed that. We also ordered the crab appetizer and did enjoy it as well, but it seemed as though again there was some spice that was added to it that was giving some heat, so it took away from the savoryness of the dish. The chocolate cake was pretty good as well. If you like heat to your food, you will absolutely love it, but it was kind of unexpected for Mac. I can totally understand the curry, but I wished the menu mentioned the curry was spicy. Our server and service, though, was impeccable, and I absolutely felt very cared for and taken care of and treated wonderfully. She was amazing! The only other reason for the 3 starts when it comes to the atmosphere besides the dead plants was the floor was extremely slippery. It was a very strange coating of some sort that I totally don't get, even in the bathroom. The place is clean and tidy with great centerpieces, but older people better watch it because they could fall, so I would consider maybe a liner to make sure that floor texture is more secure. I'd go back again and try new things because of the service, and perhaps it was an off day, but now this place has...
Read moreLoud. Besides that? Meh. We gave up trying to get reservations since no one was answering the phone, so we just went. No go; madhouse and frantic. When asked about the phone, host said it was a "Verizon issue". Okay. We booked for the following night and ate somewhere else. Next evening, we were seated on time in a booth. Décor is simple, and there is more seating than the previous restaurant(s). Still really loud. At first glance, the menu looks exciting, but to me it's just over complicated. Ordered the roasted oysters and calamari to start. Calamari was really good, but we didn't care for the oysters; very bland. Partner ordered evening's special Bison burger, but ate half. Burger was good, but over complicated with too many toppings making it overly rich and confusing. I had the Vietnamese pulled pork. Flavors were good, but lack of aioli made it really dry. Ate half. No doggie bags for us. Rolls were fresh and fries were very good; come seasoned on the side in their own wire basket. I thought the prices were okay. If we were in any kind of hurry, service would have been an issue. It definitely was not efficient, but server was pleasant and you could tell he felt bad when we reminded him he forgot our second drinks. He did come to tell us twice that it wouldn't be long for our meals. That was appreciated. I want this place to do well and am hoping that because it's new, there are a few tweaks that can be made. Right now, we won't be rushing to go back as it didn't leave an...
