The customer service at this location was terrible and disappointing. I purchased a couch online and scheduled to be picked up the next day. I got a text message saying that my order is ready to be picked up, so my boyfriend and I left immediately and drove to the store. When we got to the pickup area, the guy doing pickup orders said they accidentally gave our couch to someone else. Its understandable to possibly mix up small orders, but a couch? Really? We asked to talk to a manager and we spoke to Emily, a front end lead. Emily was so nasty and had no empathy or whatsoever. She said that it was "first come first serve", we should have gotten there earlier and not to blame her, but blame the person who picked it up. How is it first come first serve if it asked me to pick a time to pick it up? And why did I get a message that my order is ready if there's nothing there?? Emily looked up other stores and Westbury had the same couch but for $160 more and she said she can't do a price match. We ended up buying it again from Westbury but now we're driving around for this couch. Also, Westbury and customer service both said that there is no such thing as first come first serve, so I don't know why Emily said that.
I tried calling the store the following day and the phone rang for 8 minutes and no one picked up, which seems to be a problem at this location according to the other reviews. The day after that, I called again and finally someone picked up. I asked to speak to Nicole the general manager and they said she's busy and they'll tell her to call me back. I never got a call back from her so we called customer service who then escalated our situation and sent an email to the regional manager. A couple of days later, we got a call from Kim, a front end lead from Farmingdale location and offered to give us the price difference of the couches. Kim was so nice and understanding... Maybe Emily can learn a thing or two from her.
We spent the whole afternoon disassembling our old couch to then be treated poorly by Emily and inconvenienced us to drive to Westbury. She could have handled the situation differently. If she said that they made a mistake on their end, then we wouldn't be this aggravated, but instead she tried blaming it on other people. The Westbury team members were so much nicer and more understanding, maybe they can...
Read moreWent to BJs in Farmingdale to get gas. I was so happy to see they had Full Serve. I did not think they offered full service.
I pulled up, watched the attendant, Kenny, talking to the person in the car behind me. Kenny is a young, slightly portly man with a beard. He knew the person in the car behind me.. I asked him if this island was full service. He told me it was full service, but I could put gas if I wanted. I told him I preferred he pump gas because my kids were in the car. He told me “you can pump your own gas, it’s not like you are an invalid”. I told him that was pretty rude and it looks like he does not want to do his job so I would pump my own gas. He and the person in the car laughed at me.
I finished and went into the store to speak to the manager. Instead, the Asst Mgr Reina came to speak to me. I told her what happened and she told me he was probably helping another customer. I told her he was speaking to someone that he knew in the car behind me and a young man should not treat customers that way. I suggested we go out and speak to Kenny. She said she would take care of it. I suggested that we both speak to him again. She did apologize, but said she would take care of it. It was pretty clear that she did not care too much.
Bottom line is pump your own gas. The lazy attendants at BJs in Farmingdale are not interested in helping customers and their management is not interested in addressing...
Read moreI just had a very bad experience with the BJs bakery in Farmingdale. I went in on Monday and ordered a Minecraft cake for my nephew. I filled out the order form and talked to the bakery associate to let her know how I wanted the cake decorated. I even gave her a picture of what I wanted. She saw the order form and told me it’s ok and I asked her about the green color I wanted for the cake. She showed me a green color and I agreed that it would look nice on the cake. When I went to pick up the cake on Saturday, the cake looked nothing like the cake on the picture. It was white, not green! I spoke to the manager and she said that what I needed to do is indicate it on the order form. I said I did and the bakery associate told me they would make the cake green. The manager then tells me that they can’t make it green and that the bakery associate is new. I told her “I ordered this cake on Monday, why couldn’t BJs call me and tell me they couldn't make it green!” The manager then says, “the bakers here are not professional and that’s all they could do, this is why the cake just cost $23. “ I am so disappointed with the customer service and how they couldn’t accommodate me. I would not recommend to make custom cakes at the BJs from...
