The food is fantastic! But it's overshadowed by the terrible service. I feel sorry for Raimo's because whoever decided to have their one and only server a gentleman who acts like he's doing YOU a favor by being there, was a big mistake. My family went for chicken night (Tuesdays) which entitles customers to salad, pasta, chicken dish, dessert and coffee for $21.95. Directly, we informed the waiter, "We're here for chicken." He proceeded to ignore this and recited all the specials barely making eye contact or acknowledging the fact that we knew exactly what we wanted. Then he almost broke a wine glass into a salad as he struggled to open the bottle, which should be done off the table so as to avoid any potential broken class in food and/or on table. But the food is great, and it's a shame that the restaurant is empty. I can see why - while they have a great product, the server is truly a turn off. With only 5 other customers to serve, he was asked 3 times before he brought over the grating cheese. Anyway, the young man who was bussing was super nice, kind, considerate, but hadn't a clue what he was doing/how to serve. Who's to blame him; he's not being trained properly. I can only imagine the instruction (or lack thereof) from Mr. Lead Server. Anyway, you're doing a disservice to your business, your customers, and to this head waiter. Tell him to shape up or find some other restaurant. Do yourself a favor. It's negligent to keep people in positions in which they're...
Read moreThis was quite possibly one of the worst Italian restaurants I’ve eaten at, With the bread being the only appetizing food we received. The calamari (which is advertised as fresh) was straight from the box at restaurant depot! Absolutely disgusting. We ordered two specials aswell one being the chicken cordon blue with risotto and a shrimp linguini in garlic and oil. First the chicken cordon blue was just hard to eat, it was cold the texture was disgusting and sat extremely wrong in my stomach making me feel sick the rest of the night. The risotto was even worse, they served me white rice with a small amount of cheese melted on it not risotto it was disgusting, and what is even worse this dish was 35$ alone! The shrimp linguine was also absolutely terrible. This dish was advertised to be cooked in an olive and oil sauce but when we received the dish, it was basically like a soup. This was doused in clam sauce no olive and oil in sight. The dish was also just a block of half melted mozzarella, salad tomatoes, half cooked spinach, and under cooked shrimp. Over all this place was a horrible choice, will not be going back here the food is not worth the outrageous pricing, unless you’re looking to be sick to your stomach the whole rest...
Read moreWe’ve gone to Raimo’s many times with friends and family for dinner and we highly recommend it. Raimos is a cozy, intimate, family restaurant with delicious food, and friendly personal service. The menu is extensive and their weekly specials are amazing with generous portions, great desserts, a wonderful drink menu, and very reasonably priced wine by the bottle. Everything is freshly made on the premises. Tom our waiter was so helpful with the multitude of recommendations on the menu. This place is a true diamond in the rough. I learned last evening at another wonderful dinner there with friends that they have a happy hour, a party room, catering, and a prix fixe menu. Tip: Raimos is on the Long Island/Suffolk Restaurant Week list (January 24th through February 4th). Definitely go and enjoy this wonderful restaurant! Thank you Tom for the wonderful,...
