Tom Wahl's Brighton — Restaurant in Town of Brighton

This is a Rochester and Finger Lakes area classic! Do treat yourself to the experience as well as support a hometown original! For a low carb option I typically get 1 or 2 Hollywood Burger (cheeseburger w/lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise) but make sure to get it dressed up special with their hot meat sauce, onions, sweet relish, ketchup, mustard! You will need a fork and knife... Maybe an extra plate! This will be a meal or more! The custard ice cream is amazing as well! I like chocolate with mixed almonds which they prepare on the spot. The root beer is great as well... My favorite is a root beer float! The Brighton location is so bright and clean inside. It can be ready to miss when driving by but do make a point of looking for it and going in. If you can, plan to order and eat there and enjoy your visit. Nothing fancy but just good hometown basics. On my visit, I asked for BBQ chicken fingers ON my grilled cheese and was given them on the side, which was a problem because you can't take apart grilled cheese once it's cooked. The cashier asked me to repeat my order, so it was said twice. It could be miscommunication or something else, but I've had it done before at Bill Grays, Schallers, and other Tom Wahls locations. I decided not to go back and ask for it to be redone because the food was still good. The root beer option on the soda fountain would drip out some sort of clear liquid from the edges and cracks into the cup. Another soda option was coming out clear, so we let an associate know who happened to be walking by. He looked at us and kept walking without any acknowledgment, and it was never fixed during our visit.

Other than that, the food was great and the service wasn't too bad. We usually have great experiences with Tom Wahls and are willing to give this location another shot next time we are...

I placed my order in person and paid cash. I sat and waited. While I was waiting I noticed that the person that took my order leaving so I continued to wait. I noticed a large group order and get their food, then I noticed a couple order their food and get their food, and finally a woman ordered her food and got her food then leave. All the long I noticed this bag just sitting there. I finally got up from my seat and asked about my order and they tried giving me this bag that had been sitting there for a while now. The female that took my order never communicated to the next crew about my order so I told them I did not want that cold food and asked for a refund. The female and young man did apologize, which was cool but I was not happy with the person that took my order and her lack of detail and communication. I went elsewhere and will not return to Tom Wahl’s. I know it’s fast food but everyone else did get their order...
