Arooga’s in Patchogue was very pleasant. The atmosphere gave me BWW at home and was more than inviting and welcoming. The staff was friendly and typical for a sports bar. What our meal consisted of: Amish Pirogues. Traditional cheese & potato dumplings with a house-made sweet chili sour cream dip. The pierogies themselves were great! Very hot when we got them and a flaky soft outer shell. The chili-sour cream dipping sauce being a tad too sweet is what kind of took away from such a great appetizer. Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. Which consisted of Hand-breaded chicken breast, Nashville hot infused oil, a sliced dill pickle, on a buttered brioche. Talk about a mouthful.. this sandwich was delicious. Never have I ever had to cut a sandwich in half like I would a burger. Twas very large! But aside from size, what a bar set for future chicken sandwiches! I absolutely fell in love with the breading and the flavor of the chicken! Although the “hot infused oil” was far from hot (flavor).. or oil? It was a delight to have a new twist on such a staple idea that is the chicken sandwich. Then last but definitely not least was the Impossible Burger which consisted of a Plant-based burger patty, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickle, burger sauce, all on a brioche bun with the option to sub for vegan if desired. My girlfriend had this and she was pleasantly delighted with how it turned out. She didn’t say much more due to her mouth being full of delicious food! No gripes from me! Was a very sterile and clean environment! Although we went at lunch and the place was slightly empty but it was definitely crowding up as the night progressed! Also, LOTS of beer on tap. More than I’ve ever seen! 10/10!

I was with my cousin looking for a good place to watch the Met game and we ended up at Arooga’s. The place was huge and had countless TV’s. We ordered a few apps including the Buffalo pretzel, some Reuben eggrolls and some bacon cheese burger sliders. We enjoyed all of the apps but my favorite were the eggrolls, perfectly crispy and served with delicious horseradish dipping sauce. I then ordered a cheesesteak based on a recommendation from our waitress. Ordered it wit onions and wiz served on perfectly soft bread and crispy fries. I’m a sucker for peanut butter so ordered the Reeces peanut butter cup pie. Washed all of that down with a variety of cocktails including a bourbon mule, a spicy margarita and an old fashion. This spot checked all the boxes for what we were looking for. There’s also a whole game room in the back. Can’t wait to bring the kids next time!!!!!

Food is decent bar food but the service staff needs to work on their table mgmt skills. Hostess parked us right next to the service station (again), and I moved us to another open table location myself, as she quickly walked away. It was a Thursday night (8p-9p) and there were plenty of other tables available in bar area as they closed the back area. From time of sitting to drinks to food being delivered was 50 minutes. Waiter seemed distracted as I ended up having to go off to find him to get payment processed. The manager did visit the table next to us to see how it was going, and easily could have turned and done the same to us, but did not and headed off. There are plenty of other places to consider for a meal in area and it will a very long time before we would think about returning here.

Normally I do not write reviews, as I think it’s unfair to judge a restaurant on one experience, however, I feel the need to share. Last month I ordered through a delivery service with my parents, who were over helping me with my infant while I packed for vacation. We ordered from Aroogas because their menu selection is huge! We placed the order and a little while later it was delivered. When unpacking the delivery, we realized one of the dinners was missing. I called Aroogas and they confirmed it was accidentally not included. We weren’t thrilled, but it happens. We live local, so I offered to go pick it up. Mind you I paid to have it delivered and now calmly was leaving to go get it. I asked the girl on the phone if she could run it out to me since it is hard to park in Patchogue and it was a Friday night. I figured it wouldn’t be a huge deal since it was already paid for. She said that would be fine. While driving there, I realized my own meal looked off. I had gotten it before and I can’t ever finish, but this time it looked like less. I quickly googled what was included and realized the boneless wings from the sampler weren't there. When I got there, there was no way I could pull up in front, so I called and asked if they could meet me on the side (right outside their side door on South Ocean), and also told them the sampler had no boneless wings. After a series of people getting on the phone, a girl got on and told me she packed it herself and they were there. I assured her there was absolutely no way they were ever there, as the container was dry, meaning no sauce. If boneless wings with buffalo sauce had been included, you would see the leftover sauce. Over and over she basically told me I was mistaken. So I had my father send me a picture of the container. In addition, they said they couldn’t meet me on the side to give me my food. So at 8pm on a Friday I had to put my hazards on and block traffic so that the girl could come out the front. I left the house in just socks (mom life) because I didn’t think I had to get out, so I couldn’t even park and walk if I wanted to. She brought the manager with her and I showed him the picture. He agreed that boneless wings were never in the container and offered to get me some. I nicely declined and told him I just wanted to go at this point so my mother had food. He took my information and said he would sent a gift card or appetizer card for the trouble. That has yet to come. We have eaten here before and have not had an issue, however, this experience really put a bad taste in my mouth for the restaurant. I find it extremely absurd that I had to argue about my missing food when i literally drove there to pick up my other...

He come out and my bf and we are speaking to him im saying in a normal tone voice that we understand that theres a dress code but he wore the samething before and it was perfectly fine but the bouncer interrupts me in the middle on me speaking and says in a angry voice "obviously you dont understand" i try to countinue explaining and he interrupts me yet again and says in the same tone " no you just dont like to hear no" at this point i was absolutely disgusted but this "man" he was beyond disrespectful to me. The manager said he would let us come in this time but told me flip flops are also not allowed tho i was wearing dressy sandlas and said maybe try to wear close to shoes next time. When we get to our table we wait 20 min to be asked about drinks and we tell the waitresse our order and she writes none of down and has to come back to ask my bf his order again bc she said she got distracted. The sad part is the food is good but we will never be...
