Bagels Your Way — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

I grew up nearby & was visiting my family on LI over Easter. We were in the area & stopped by, and I am so glad we did! I always try to grab a bagel locally when I'm visiting because there's NOTHING like a good Long Island bagel (& I lived in the city for almost 20 years and still -- LI has got the best imho). Anyway, Bagels Your Way did NOT disappoint! I had an everything with scallion cream cheese & it was, quite frankly, one of the best I've had in a while! The bagel was nice and crisp on the outside with a slight chew, and soft on the inside without being too doughy - I personally judge how good a bagel is by eating it un-toasted (to me toasting is only for stale or subpar bagels lol). It had just the right amount of salt, too, and the cream cheese was delish. The coffee was also robust & brewed fresh, not weak or bitter like you might find in some spots. Absolutely friendly staff. Bagels are just okay. Much more doughy than it should be with too soft of a crust. They either don’t properly cook them or mix them enough. Not quite a true NY bagel but it was adequate. My co-worker had an egg sandwich. Asked for scrambled and at best it was over easy with a broken yoke. Hardly call that scrambled. More like lazy. The worst deli/bagel place I’ve ever been to! They are dirty they wear gloves but they count the money and touch the food with the same gloves. They are incredibly slow. They got my order wrong and I watched for people who came in with online orders complaining about mistakes in their order as well. Don’t waste your time going to this dump they should be closed by the health department . I’d rather get a bagel from a gas station then eat at this...
