Billie's 1890 Saloon — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

Stick around cause I have a complaint about the service I experienced on Saturday night. I’m not gonna give a bad rating because I believe that this spot is good and the atmosphere is great. I’ve been here a couple times before for a drink and everything was fine.

This time though, as I’m walking in the bouncer was laughing and smiling with someone else, like a coworker, then turns to my friend and I super serious. It was awkward because I didn’t feel very welcomed. You go to a bar or restaurant and usually the staff welcomes you, is friendly, smiling and ready to serve you and give you a good experience so that you will want to come back and enjoy your visit.

My friend walked in and was looking deeper into the bar, from the front, but he didn’t walk past the bouncer. He didn’t walk in far at all. We stopped at the front to get our IDs checked, but the bouncer like pressed him on the shoulder like “helloo!! Hey!!” As if my friend was walking into the bar and not being cooperative, which wasn’t the case

Just very assumptive about us. That’s what it felt like. Not very welcoming or friendly attitude from him. I was leaving and he looked right at me , once again he’s laughing and talking with someone else, but didn’t say anything to me. No bye, have a good night, come again soon, hope you enjoyed your visit. Nothing

Should I be begging to be accepted into a venue that should want my business and that should want to give me good service so that they can have me as a consistent customer? Obviously the answer is no. Who would want to go out to somewhere where a staff member makes them feel unwelcome or not good enough to be there? Or not good enough to be kind, friendly and personable toward? Or how about going to a place where you feel like the bouncer is profiling you?

I've been coming here for years and have had the pleasure of getting to know many of their bartenders as they started there and then moved onto other endeavors. Yesterday there was a new face behind the bar named Melissa (nicknamed "Murph" and she is a STELLAR addition to the team! She is friendly, personable, and is so good at her job it's hard to believe she's one of their newer hires. She makes the best espresso martini I’ve ever had (which makes sense why she has a reputation for it).

We came in when it was slow and out of nowhere the bar became PACKED and this girl didn't miss a beat. Billie's knew what they were doing adding her to the bar staff because she took on the entire bar area, service drinks for waitstaff and was even running food/drinks to tables when she had time- all with the biggest smile and best attitude. If you haven't been to Billie's for their incredible burgers, wings and ambiance then you MUST go down and meet the all mighty Murph. You can tell she enjoys her job and truly wants guests to feel welcome and happy to be there. Myself along with other guests were amazed at how on earth she took that entire bar on by herself she's a rockstar!! Great job Melissa!!!! Would love to see her behind the bar more often in the future. Glad to see another all star join an already incredible team of bartenders at...

This place was absolutely awful! I received the wrong food, then they tried telling me that the obvious turkey sandwich was the corned beef that I ordered. Then I was told that they were in fact out of corned beef minutes after sending it back. I was then forced to choose a different plate, and I ordered fish and chips. Meanwhile 4 others in my party were almost finished eating. My husband ordered fish and chips as well and didn't receive his until 20 mins AFTER everyone received their food. That's not all.. THEN the server comes to tell me that they actually think they are out of fish and chips and they were going to check to see if they have more. I waited ANOTHER 10 minutes for my fish and chips and was eating alone at this point since everyone else in my party finished much earlier! My niece ordered a grilled cheese sandwich which was 'forgotten' and she as well ate way after her parents.

NEVER, ever go to this place! Complete chaos and so unprofessional. A disgrace to the port...
