Iām not a regular to this store, Iāve only been here twice. But I wonāt be returning. The bagels I bought were okay. Cafe bagel store in Stony Brook is better. But my issue isnāt with the bagels. Itās with the environment! The store front has two doors, side by side. One door is locked. So when my son came with me for the first time, he pulled on the locked door a few times before realizing the other door. When we entered the store, we were met with an employee and a customer looking at my son and laughing. It was very clear to my son and I that they were laughing at him for trying to get in using the wrong door because they kept looking at him, laughing and then back at each other. Well, it stopped when I made it known that we knew they were making fun of my son. At that point they wouldnāt even make eye contact with me. It couldnāt be more obvious. The employee was approximately 60, dry blonde hair, missing teeth on the side and rough looking. Based on the negative reviews here, Iām thinking it may have been the owner. This is what they do? Make fun of the customers who keep that business...

I have been a customer for many years and have put up with it because I consider myself to have a pretty thick skin. But today was the last day....they screwed up my order, sent me home missing a sandwich, I get home, everyone sits down,,..my Wife's is missing. š So now I have to go back and get her sandwich...fine. I get there and tell the gray-haired older guy at the counter what happened...with this he hands me my sandwich which was behind the counter the whole time and says. "Yeah they forgot to put it in the bag...2.60". No apology for my wasted time and gas in a rain storm or his own staffs ineptitude. Just an aire of "give me my money and get". Well sir I will did exactly that...and will take my business elsewhere from now on. To the Ownership: perhaps let the illegal immigrants that sweep the floor work the front....I don't know if they'd be anymore competent but I'm sure they'd be...

One gentleman asked if the two guys at the counter ( my partner and i ) were being helped. They looked at us standing there and went back to their conversation as if we weren't even there. After waiting for 7 minutes we decided to leave and go to another deli. They lost what would have been great business for them. When i called a few minutes later to talk to a manager the girl who answered the phone couldn't have cared less about our experience and told me their was no manager available. Heres a tip to the staff here at Miller Place Deli. When a customer comes into your establishment you should 1. greet them and let them know they are acknowledged and not ignore them. 2, when someone calls with a complaint you should be sympathetic and try to get the customer back. I would never do business here and will let people know about...
