This is a solid neighborhood Chinese place. What makes it 5 Stars is that can make most of the dishes gluten free. I have eaten here 4 or 5 times and I have had no reaction at all. You need to specify gluten free when you order, and they will sub in Gluten Free Soy Sauce, for example. It does not work for every dish, breaded dishes are still a no-go, but there is a pretty good selection. As far as I know, they don't have a separate kitchen, so they are Gluten Friendly, not gluten free.
The best dishes are on the "Real Chinese" part of the menu. I have had the shredded pork, the cabbage, and the string beans. They were all very good. I agree with some of the other reviews, the fried rice is a little bland. That being said, before I found this place, it had been 6 years since I had takeout Chinese food. I would give it 10 stars for that alone.
It is not the objectively best Chinese I have every had, but it is far from bad. It is the best Gluten Free Chinese I have ever had and I have not gotten sick! Now if they can only figure out how to make Gluten Free bagels...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came to Jen's Chinese restaurant for the very first and last time. I place my order Garlic chicken and vegetables and fried chicken wings. First the garlic sauce is Brown sauce (original sauce) it taste bitter and salty. The kicker is the chicken wings. The lady cut up three chicken wings and presenting it as a 6 piece chicken wings not 6 wings. Now I called her over about the whole order. She s telling me you have to ask for 6 wings. It clearly states 6 wings on the menu. She then says you must not be from around here. Now you know where I'm from? Why are you addressing me on where I'm from? Is it because I'm questioning my order. because I'm not a white woman. When the person is (black) I was with lives in the area and comes to your establishment. Are you SERIOUS??? The worst service . Instead she admits to over pricing and cheating her customers . Unbelievable. You can't make this stuff up.in top of it all Racist !and the food tasteless. I wouldn't feed it to a dog. She gets the Donkey...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would. There was plastic in my food. I have never given a bad review of a restaurant before. However, I feel like people should be warned about this place. NOTHING had flavor. And, my taste buds are working great. The spring roll was the size of my middle finger (basically dough wrapped in a tube, with a teeny tiny amount of filling). The veggie roll had very little filling, and was either freezer burned or way over cooked (very tough). The veggie dumpling was also mainly dough, with mushy, almost puree-like filling. And if all that isn't bad enough, I FOUND NOT 1, BUT 2 PIECES OF HARD PLASTIC IN MY LO MEIN!!! The container wasn't broken, so I know it wasn't from that. I've never had worse chinese food in my life. I will never go back, and certainly will...
