Today I was honored at work for 25 years of service. If you know who I am you know that I love working at Farmingdale State College. I am honored to be an alum and an employee.
When I arrived home my family said they're taking me out for dinner. We went to our partner down in Patchogue Whiskey Neat ...
We started the meal off by ordering two cocktails. I had a ordered a whiskey old fashioned. Was made well, and was awesome.
We started we started the meal with wings. They are a chilly sauce which was so good. There are a few flavors that I love on wings and chili sauce is one of them. The wings were meeting and full of flavor and a nice size portion.
Kenny of course had a buffalo sauce Wing which wasn't even on the menu. They just made it for him.
My daughter ordered the best chicken on the block my daughter said it was good and would order again. She also ordered an order of fingerling potatoes which came with a garlic aioli sauce which was out of this world.
We ordered a side of fries to go with the wings and they are so good there.
The family tried the French onion soup and other than the Rosemary Sprague that my daughter ate she said it was really good.
My burger that I ordered was phenomenal and came with a thick slab of bacon cooked perfectly to a temp of medium rare. So messy and delicious I couldn't be happier.
The bartender did not have unsweet iced tea so she actually brewed a cup of tea and then poured it over ice. She didn't have to do this but suggested it and didn't mind creating it and Vikki was happy. When a bartender is willing to do something like that although it seems like a simple task it takes extra time. That is above and beyond for me and appreciated
Have a great little seating area out front that I can definitely see myself grabbing a drink and just sitting there and people watch.
Next time you're in the area definitely check them out and and make sure you mention the page. Discount was given without even bringing it up and I absolutely love the decor.
I can't wait to explore their whiskey list.
I hear they have an amazing deal on Wednesday that I'm hoping the owner will come in...
Read moreFirst time here. First off, hats off to Rob for facilitating a superb night for us by simply channeling true hospitality. The dinner that we bought tickets for was canceled and Rob promptly reached out to invite us to another event (or receive a refund). My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and so we humbly accepted the invite. We weren't the only ones who were shown hospitality as the couple we were seated adjacent also had a similar situation! Go figure. Alex the wine distro rep was extremely knowledgeable as were his staff. He has a beautiful mission of bringing together the east end / north fork wines to a wider audience, and as a supporter of all things local and community-driven it added a lot to the experience. My wife and I were extremely late (about 25 minutes) and we were still seated without any issue. Tate was super gracious and let us know to take our time and not rush through our meal (even though they were 2 courses in). Food was good, and knowing how operationally it can be challenging to get chefs in for these events the expectation will be different with every Chef I'm sure; however the crostini, salad, and dessert were all paired and seasoned beautifully! Shout out to Jamesport winery! All in all would definitely go again, and if we lived closer we would likely make this our neighborhood haunt haha. Thanks for a memorable evening, and from one industry professional to another, thank you and your staff for the lovely...
Read moreCame here for the first time Saturday night with hubby. Place was fairly crowded at about 6:45. They had a live band playing, Con Ed, which was pretty good. Luckily got a seat at the bar as another couple was leaving. Ordered a Manhattan and hubby ordered a bourbon neat. The bartender we got was something straight out of Bar Rescue of what NOT to do. She was pleasant enough but starts making my drink and sticks her nose in the shaker to see what was previously in there. Decides to use a different one. Asked her to make it light on the vermouth, says yes, then makes it the regular way. Both drinks she uses a jigger to pour. Watching her make other people's drinks, sometimes she measures, sometimes she just pours. We had ordered our drinks before 7:00. Asked her if we got the Happy Hour price which ended at 7:00. She looks it up and says, no, sorry. It was after 7:00 when she rang it up and she said it's automatically in the system that way. So you can't override it?? I wanted to say something but hubby didn't want to. Saw her have at least 3 shots with patrons as we're sitting there. We decide to order food and eat at the bar. Food was good pub food. Had the chicken sandwich and hubby had the mahi tacos. After food came out didn't come by to ask if we had everything. Another bartender noticed I was waiting to get her attention and asked. I would come back again and just hope to get a different bartender. Loved the selection...
