Jessica was my server This was my best friend and I first time eating at this diner. We walk in one of the servers tell us to go find a seat that’s open and found a seat and uncomfortable booth as all the booths are in the same size I’m 5’8” btw no leg room to sit in front of each other so we sat like windows. Wasn’t sure what to order server give us another couple minutes to decide after drinks we placed our order then the food came out about 10 minutes after. I had ordered Swiss mushroom burger and chocolate chip Belgian waffle. The Swiss burger was overall a one out of 10 due to the blandness chargrilled flavor. Presentation of the burger was great, but it had no flavor. The Belgian waffle was a 5 out of 10. Presentation wasn’t so pretty but the waffles were good at least. When it was time to pay or ask for anything like napkins, it felt like we were bothering Jessica and she did not want to help us willingly she began showing us a attitude and snapping at us for calling her twice for help because she is our server. When I asked that we were ready to go She snapped and said OK!! with no to go trays(I had to ask the clean up guy) he responded with I will get your waiter shortly Jessica snatches my card and receipt from the edge of the table and comes back quickly that she when she slapped my card back down with receipt inside the have a good day. Mind you I still didn’t have my bags for my trays I ordered two different meals that were in two different packaging’s. Read moreFor many years Julie's has been on my favorite breakfast list and fish fry during Lent. Two weeks ago my party of two ordered the fish fry dinner. The service was fast but not in a happy way. Our favorite waitress was too fast and even hyper. It was early and not nearly as busy as usual but she needed to take a few minutes and settle down.. it was unsettling. No need to go on about that as this is not the usual ... feeling that we wished we just order a to go dinner. One more thought about dinner... we were not given the choice between fry's and onion rings. A table next to us noticed another customer with onion rings and asked to change their fries. Very quickly their fries were removed and rings took their place. This left a sadness during our stay. The rings looked amazing, our fries were cool and soft. The real reason for my review is that our entire dinner was most definitely a disappointment. Not sure what happened to the usual fish but left feeling, never again... something has most definitely changed. But it did not end there... I left with only a few fries eaten... our waitress noticed this and shared that it was ok, hinting she thought it was because I was watching my weight. In all fairness, earlier she asked as she walked past our table " everything ok". I nodded a slight up and down movement. This Friday, we went back to our previous favorite restaurant and wondered why we ever left. Read moreBeen going there for 20 years since they opened. Today was my last day. They lied about our wait time. Fifteen minutes turned into 45 minutes. Then we asked if they could put two tables together, they said they don’t do that, when in fact they do and we witnessed it. We were a table of Five. They took a group of 6 in after we were on the list. After this, we questioned and they said now it would be an hour. The Manager was rude and told us “Too Leave”. I did mention I was going to write this review and she replied “go ahead”. This was on Father’s Day in front of my family……nice!. The owner should know better than to have front line supervisors treat the clients who made Julie’s Diner a success this badly and rudely. I guess they forgot the people who got them there. Also, we approached them nicely as the hostess kept looking at us because we were waiting a really long time. The people of 5 they seated came after us. They made a mistake and just could have apologized and found a way to accommodate us. Instead we were basically told to leave and they don’t care about the customer. I live in North Syracuse and am a business person who will make it my mission to sway customers away from here and advise them to go elsewhere. To make matter worse, I was getting really nasty feedback from there employees and this specific manager when I posted a review on the FB site. I took that down as they were so rude and condescending and reiterating for us to not come back. Never a response or feedback from ownership. Terrible...
