The food overall was good.
General: For trying to keep open during Covid you would think there would at least be soap in the bathroom. Nope. Both dispensers completely empty. The sign for one person at a time must be for show. Multiple people were in after me and no one left and no one enforced (definitely not part of anyone's job description there, but with Covid a little extra concern might be useful). Watched another couple be seated at the table we had just left within two minutes. Saw a cloth rag used to wipe it down. Not seeing where there was any sanitizing. Felt like I was going to get Covid from how under-maintained it seemed, and honestly should have just left.
Personal issue: The issue started as soon as I walked in and asked if there was a gluten free menu. Hostess was blatantly rude. Went to find out if such a thing existed, which it does in an entire allergen list which is available online. Was served gluten and ate half a bite falsely trusting that Applebee's took your dietary restrictions seriously when you're dealing with autoimmune disease. Have been suffering from swelling, chest pain, joint pain, rash, chills, stomach pain, etc. from my autoimmune disease for three days now. Hostess was overheard complaining about me to a nearby coworker (also had the audacity to look right at me as she did it). It's a shame, because I used to really like this place. She said that the riblets had a bottomless basket, so I ordered those. Over the course of the meal service was slow, she never brought water that we ordered. After I finished my first basket I asked for a second and when she returned she said that that promotion ended 2 days earlier. Had I known this i would not have ordered the riblets. Then when my party asked for separate receipts she charged us she got our orders mixed up which wasted about 20 minutes. When we left I spoke with the manager commenting that charging $16 for 3 riblets was outrageous when I was told the basket was bottomless, he commented that the promotion I was talking about stopped two months prior. Which meant that my server lied to me both about the price of my food, the fact that they were unlimited AND when the promotion ended after she was caught in the lie.
So in short- slow service, no water, an employee who was either lying to my face or grossly misinformed (and I'm not sure which is worse in the food service industry)
I wanted to have an enjoyable night out with my friends but after the service and the overpriced meal I was given I doubt I will be returning...

Surely after yesterday, I will never go back. The burger that I got was ice cold, as was the fries it came with. They took it upon themselves to toast the stale bun it came on (which Im guessing they did to HIDE the fact that it was stale) and I couldn't even FIND a waiter/waitress to report this all to. I had to leave my table, food in hand, and walk myself to the back of the restaurant to find someone. Also, the burger did not come with the standard lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle that I receive at OTHER Applebee's locations - apparently HERE I have to ASK for it... and when I did, out came ONE little slice of DIRTY lettuce, two small pickle slices, one extremely thin slice of tomato and 2 very thin onion pieces. I found a bar table with about 7 of the restaurant's servers there (makes sense) and asked to speak to the manager. Out comes a CHILD (he seriously could not have been over 21) - this is when it all became clear to me.
