Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Town of De Witt

I will never be back to this Applebees. I may not ever go into another Applebee. On my last visit, there were hands down the worse service I have ever gotten anywhere in my entire life. For information for corporate or the manager or someone who cares enough to talk to their staff, I was there 5/24/21 from 12 to 1:30. I sat at table 68 and my check number 8808-1090441.

After being seated, it took 15 minutes for someone to come over and ask for our drink order. We didn't get them for another 15 minutes when she only brought half of the drinks we ordered. Set them on the table and walked away without saying a word. Now 40 minutes into it we had received half our drink order and hadn't even put in our food order. She came back took half the table's order and went to walk away. We had to stop her to let her know only half the table ordered and we were still waiting on drinks. We were 3 adults and 1 kid. 1 adult got her food 5 minutes before anyone else. Then the rest came out together. My meal wasn't what I ordered at all. We had to wave her down after waiting for 15 minutes for her to do the "how is everything so far" which she never did. Told her this isn't what I ordered and she goes "no it's not" we just have a stare-off. AT this point I'm fed up. Tell her fine I'll eat this charge me for half since I am eating it. She says okay and walks away.

We tried paying with the table tablet because heaven forbid our server does her actual job and of course it isn't working. We use it to page her over to our table. We were there for about 85 minutes. Not once were we asked do you need a refill, how is everything, would you like a to-go box, are you interested in desserts.

When she brought us the check she asked if I wanted my sandwich for here or to go? The actual sandwich I ordered. SHe never informed me they were making it at all.

We should have left when we walked in and servers were cleaning the tables and very loudly complaining about the closing staff.

I've been in the food industry for over 10 years and this just takes the cake. This was hands down the worse restaurant experience of my life. Moving forward I will be a vocal advocate to prevent other people from visiting this location and suffering through the neglect that I and...

I placed an on-the-go order over the phone on 2/5/22 and spoke to John. He was nice, but failed to inform me that I would need to come inside and pay for a curbside pickup order. When I arrived I waited and waited at the curbside pick up, lane number 6 and no one came to the car to collect payment or bring the food that I ordered. Mind you, this was after I called and told John that I had arrived and was waiting outside. I finally decided to go inside and see what was taking so long. The waitress who took a while to greet me informed me that I did in fact have to pay inside which was no issue, I just wish I was given a heads up.

Once my food was paid for, $66.34, I went home and tried to eat but the food was absolutely HORRIBLE!! I ordered three fiesta lime chicken meals for me and my family. The chicken was beyond dry and old, the tortilla chips were stale and old and the side of string beans that I ordered were also hard and lukewarm.

I ordered curbside at this location before and never had an issue, but tonight was terrible. I spoke to the manager, Peter and he apologized and explained that they were currently short staffed. While I know that might be the case because we're in the middle of a pandemic, I thought that was no excuse because I called ahead of time and at a restaurant you should always make sure you're serving your loyal paying customers fresh food every time. I asked for a full refund and Peter said he would do that for me.

Again, I never had an issue at this location until tonight. Very unfortunate and waste of time, gas and money. The only positive thing I can say is that the French onion soup and two sides of mashed potatoes were made right, but at that point my family and I didn't eat it because everything else was so bad and we were completely turned off. Next time, please do things the right way. I will be skeptical about ordering from this place again...

Horrible experience today, came here with my family and the service from the waiter to the cooks was horrible! We waited for about 30 to 40 minutes just for our drinks and the appetizers we ordered took about an hour to arrive and i really wish i was exaggerating but it's the reality of it, we had the boneless wings for appetizer and the crust and chicken was too overcooked! When the food finally arrived to our table it was just a mess, my sister had the bourbon shrimp and chicken and she said it was too salty and dry and the portion was pretty small, my nephew had the 8 oz steak and he asked for it well done and it was medium rare and the amount of fries on the plate was only a few. I had the classic bacon cheeseburger and the strips of bacon was overcooked and hard also the beef pattie was overcooked and very dry. Our waiter was in fact high on drugs and was speaking very slugish and was very slow getting everyones order on his tables including ours. I had to complain about the food and drinks cause they even got the wrong alcohol beverage for my sister with little to no actual alcohol and she only tasted how sweet it was. Horrible experience with extremely slow service and a bad waiter named keith. The cooks we're doing a poor job with the food. I even saw the actual manager helping the staff cause they we're people...
