I had booked cupcaked for my daughter's wedding which was to take place in October. Unfortunately., the wedding was canceled. I understand that in instances, for good reason, deposits are given and for very good reason in some cases are not refundable. I looked through all the contracts I had signed detailing at what point my deposit became nonrefundable and fortunately, every vendor I used with which there was a contract, was well within the time frame and I was given back my deposit with much understanding from the vendor...I apologized profusely and they said "these things happen" and to keep them in mind for future events. Unfortunately this was not the case with Cupcaked. To start with, there was no contract signed upon acceptance of my order and deposit, just email exchanges. I've reread the several exchanges that went over the details of the transaction to see if i missed something, and nowhere in the exchanges was there mention of a cancelation policy. Several months after giving my deposit I was sent a link which did in fact state that the deposit was nonrefundable which, for the sake of good business should have been provided before accepting my money... to be fair, i probably should have asked, but didnt think in a million years that we would have to cancel. As I said earlier, I understand the reason for nonrefundable deposits as there comes a time when the vendor would suffer a loss as a result of a cancelation which would be unfair, but I don't see how canceling 6 months before the event would cause that to be the case and neither did any of the other vendors I used. I even tried to use my deposit as credit for another purchase from the bakery and they said no the deposit was for weddings only. To fuel my disappointment, even the vendors who recommended this bakery also stated that they thought this was poor business and my money should have been refunded with a cancelation this far out. I think at the very least, they could have showed that they care about their customers enough to at the very least, to allow me some kind of partial credit toward another order in good faith. I do believe this is bad business and will not be considering this bakery for any future events. Just wanted to share this in case someone is considering using this bakery for an event, and they aren't told their deposit is nonrefundable under any...
Read moreI am OBSESSED with Cupcaked, Annie, and all the workers! We originally booked Cupcaked for our cake pop and macaroon cake for our wedding in 2020, unfortunately COVID hit so we had to postpone our big celebration to 2021. We still had a small backyard wedding and we asked Annie to make our cake with our flavors but gave her full creative control of how it would look. When I saw Annie personally delivering our cake, tears filled my eyes because not only was it beautiful, but it made our wedding day feel more like a wedding even though it was just our parents and bridal party there. Annie has been nothing but amazing during all this time of uncertainty and it really meant so much to us. When I opened my business, of course she was the one I'd want to make the grand opening cookies, she nailed my vision and they tasted even better. Then came our reception (finally!), we were back and forth so much on how big of a cake pop cake we'd need to have the cake look how I wanted it to look and how many macaroons we would need for our guest list. As always, Annie was there every step of the way helping us figure out our design, number of each we needed, and flavors. She set it up beautifully and it exceeded every expectation that I had. Cupcaked made BOTH our wedding days complete. After all three events, I have heard nothing but positive comments about our desserts. Cupcaked will be the only bakery we use, not only because of how delicious and perfect everything is, but because of the special care and attention you get each and every time you work with Annie and her team. I will always be thankful for this bakery and what they all have...
Read moreCupcaked made all of my wedding dessert dreams come true! Our “breakfast shot” cake was so delicious, we ate 2 pieces at the cutting and have eaten several more before wrapping it up to freeze. It was also amazing that I sent a few photos of the bakery’s own gorgeous work and had very little input on the design, and they brought my vision to life. It was like magic! All of the cupcake flavors looked delicious and so pretty, and I was able to snag one of the raspberry lemon cheesecake ones the next morning for breakfast - so good! They coordinated the 200 dozen cookies our friends and family members baked into our dessert table which was stunning, full to the brim, and baked with so much love. It was overwhelming to take in all of the beauty of the day, but the details that I had imagined and dreamed and worked so hard to convey the last 6 months were perfectly executed and the desserts were literally the cherry on top. And one of my friends popped into the bakery and got a Cinnamon Toast Crunch cupcake on Friday and is still talking about it a week and a half later. I‘m so happy and overjoyed and pleased and satisfied and obsessed I am with their work. The communication leading up to the wedding was also super fluid and I was able to change my order various times to...
