I recently moved to Rockville Centre very near to Blue Moon. I went online to Blue Moon’s website and clicked the link to “Order Online” and I placed my first (and last ever) order. I was required to make payment when I placed the order. I later sent my husband in to pick up our order and the man behind the bar charged him a second time for the food. I called Blue Moon to rectify the situation and the man on the phone rudely chastised me for not knowing that the link from their own website was actually leading me to a service called “Slice” and that I should have known let him know at the time of pickup that the order was paid. The link is on their own website and requires the person to pay. I told asked him how I should know all the tricks of their own website so that I don’t get charged twice. He continued to say that it was my fault. I really did not want a fight, just a resolution, and I was looking forward to finding a good neighborhood restaurant, but after this conversation, I will never go back to Blue Moon. I have more self-respect than to patronize a “hospitality” business where I am treated so poorly. This all occurred Tuesday 1-22-19, at 6:00 pm. The man who double charged me then chastised me for not knowing his rules was in his 60’s and has salt and...
Read moreOrdered the cacio e pepe from their "specials" menu and it was underwhelming. My pasta was very watery, not cheesy. It had good taste, but nothing like traditional cacio e pepe. We had mixed emotions about my wife's chicken parmigiana pasta dish. The chicken was good, however it was very saucy. It was accompanied by a side of rigatoni served on a separate plate that was drowning in sauce which combined with the chicken felt like sauce overkill. Our friends ordered the stuffed shells, a side order of meatballs and a personal pizza which they seemed to enjoy. Tasted the coal fired chicken wings and they were delicious.
With regards to the service, we read some reviews prior to our visit, so we set our expectations accordingly and what we read was accurate. No one was rude, but the service was lacking. We had to flag down our server to take our order and once we got our food they were missing in action. Didn't offer to refill our waters and just didn't show up until we were done to clear the table and bring us the check which we had to flag down. Felt more like take out place then the "fine dining establishment" they promote. They also appeared to be busy with a private party in the back room. Maybe they cater more to larger groups....
Read more9/12/18 +1 star-Baked Clams Appitizer was great, sauce on plate made the dish. Garlic Knots were tasty. +1 star-Enjoyed the general atmosphere and the decor, as well as the cleanliness of the establishment. +1 star-Our Waitress provided excellent, friendly and courteous service. While I ate, across At the bar there was what seemed to be a female employee, off duty, and an older gentleman behind the bar speaking loudly, with the female using excessive profanity. People can talk how they like, just seems extremely unprofessional to do it at your place of employement.
The main dishes my friend and I had weren't good. They also werent bad. Just "OK". Both dishes were extremely bland. Best description would be equivalent to what fast food italian would taste like. Like I said, not bad, not good, just ok. I would suggest looking for a different Italian dining experience in the area for a main dish/full dinner. This place is more suitable For a quick appetizer type meal situation based on the garlic knots/baked clams and the...
