Chef B's — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

I've passed Chef B's a few times and each time saying to myself I need to try the food there- today was the day. I walked up to the door/window only to discover that I have to either order online for pick-up or call ahead... As I'm typing the phone number into my phone the pick-up window opens and I'm pleasantly greeted and the order process explained- she was gracious enough to allow me to order at the window. Before I go any further, I truly appreciated the order process as a lot of attention usually yeilds very good results...

I ordered curry goat (spicy), rice and beans with plantains (spicy). Can't forget the gravy... I was asked bone in or off... There is an extra charge for bone off but I opted for bone in. After hearing the total of $19.25 I was a little curious about portion size but it's a local business and I really wanted to try this place so, I pay and was asked for my phone # so they can call me when my order is ready.

After about 12-15 minutes I get the call "hello sir, your order is ready". I walk back up to the window and collect my order. I was surprised by the weight of the bag. hmmmm let's go home and see what this is all about.

I get home and rip open the first bag, then a second bag and I find a large take a way container wrapped in cellophane. Awesome! Can't have the gravy everywhere- I have when that happens 🤦🏾‍♂️. Once I got the cellphone and cover off, a delicious aroma filled my kitchen...

Everything was fantastic! Definitely worth the $19.25 from a portion size standpoint as two adults can easily share this... The goat was cooked to perfection the gravy was delightful when mixed with the rice and the plantains were great! This was an overall pleasant experience, especially in the current times.

I can't wait to try some of the other...

I would like to start off by saying this company is absolutely amazing. The customer service is impeccable. I spoke to a woman on the phone and she was very kind and courteous. I had only called the company to thank them for their service but I missed her name. Looking at the prices online you would think that it’s kind of pricey compared to other local restaurants. Let me tell you Chef B’s food is worth every single dollar as far as taste and portion size. I ordered my food through door dash and was skeptical due to other experiences with other local restaurants but I wanted to give them a try because I saw great reviews and so glad I did!!!. One of the things that I love with my delivery was the fact that my food was in a paper bag and it was stapled SHUT!!! So therefore I didn’t have to worry about if somebody was digging in my food. The next thing I loved about this restaurant was the fact that they put my food in actual Tupperware and it was very presentable. But the most important part besides the presentation of the food was that it taste simply amazingggg!!! I lived in the rockaways for the past five years and I am currently moving at the end of January out of state and I’ve had nothing but basic west indian food living out here. And I’m so sad because I finally found a restaurant that I can honestly say I love and I’m not going to be living over here. But when I come back in town Chef B’s will definitely be one if my favorite stops. All I ask from this company is to remain the same with presentation when it comes to customer service and food because y’all are amazing!!! Order: Curry shrimp roti, Curry chicken roti and Stew Chicken roti and thanks again for the strawberry cheesecake...

Absolutely DELICIOUS! Lets start from the ordering process via phone. I am not one to call in orders, I would rather read a menu and decide what I want however, there were many items on the menu, and my parents needed to order as well, I just decided to call. Sherry's service was out of the world. I had many questions and she answered them clear and concise. I was never made to feel as if I was getting on her nerves. She reviewed my order, gave me the price and let me know she would call when my order was ready. I remember hanging up the phone and saying to my parents, "she was very nice."

Fast forward to food pick-up. Sherry did give a 30 minute window for our food to be prepared, which let me know it was being made as I ordered it. About 30 mins from the time I place the order I received a call from the a beautiful voice belonging to Sherry letting me know that my order was ready. Food pick-up felt like seeing an old time friend, Sherry was so nice and welcoming, did not even feel like a window separated us. I told everyone about the good service my family and I had just received on the way home before I even had my meal.

Unpack the food and everything is well labeled and packaged nicely. The steam was still coming out of our dishes by the time we sat down to eat. My first bite into my curry shrimp roti sealed the deal! My belly was full but I wanted to keep eating because it was so good!! Can't wait to try the pan seared shrimp!!! (as recommended by Sherry during our food pick-up) I am sure you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu!!
