My friend and I had a delightful experience at this Mediterranean restaurant in Westbury, New York. We visited it on a Friday evening around 5 o’clock and were surprised to find the restaurant nearly empty, with only one other table occupied by a birthday celebration. The restaurant’s location at the crossroads of Merrick Avenue and Old Country Road made it easy to access, with plenty of parking available. Despite its small size, FandoQ had a cozy and neat atmosphere, decorated with beautiful ethnic paintings on the walls. The manager was exceptionally pleasant and attentive to our needs throughout the evening. For our appetisers, I ordered the Samosa, a fried pastry filled with vegetables and chickpeas, while my friend enjoyed the lentil soup and spinach pie. The portions were generous, so my friend decided to skip the main course, while I savoured the Adana kebab, which was a flavourful and perfectly grilled ground lamb dish served with fluffy white rice. To accompany our meal, my friend opted for Chianti, while I chose a refreshing pomegranate martini. For dessert, we shared a delightful Persian tea and indulged in the baklava and Persian ice cream, which was vanilla-based with pistachios. Throughout our meal, we were serenaded by the soothing music by RilTim, which added to the overall ambiance without being too loud, allowing us to enjoy both the music and our conversation. In conclusion, our experience at FandoQ was exceptional. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was inviting. We would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a meal...
Read moreWe traveled all the way from Maryland to New York, and this was the first place we thought of returning to — that's how much we loved it last year! From the moment we walked in, it felt like home again. The gentleman named Alireza truly makes this place special. He is always incredibly kind, welcoming, and generous. His demeanor is calm and respectful, and he treats every customer like family.
Each time we’ve come, he has offered us delicious pastries — a gesture that goes such a long way in showing how much he values his guests. The hospitality here is unmatched. It’s rare to find a place that stays in your heart after a year, but this restaurant did just that for us.
If you're visiting New York and want a place with amazing service, genuine people, and hospitality that makes you feel like you're visiting a friend, don’t miss this spot. Thank you, Alireza, for making our return visit just as memorable — we’ll definitely...
Read moreWe Picked up Dinner for the family. The Food Was Horrible. We had to Throw out our entire meal. It Was Spoiled oily ground beef and beef slices , the lamb chops were spoiled, the poultry was spoiled, the rice was stale and everything had a foul odor and taste. We ordered the combination platter which consisted of two skewers of ground beef, one skewer of steak/beef, one skewer of boneless chicken and a separate order of lamb chops, cranberry rice and dill rice , the meat did not even taste like meat, the rice had no flavor of Persian cuisine, I took one bite out of every thing and spit it out, I couldn’t stomach it. You need to throw out stale old food and hire a better chef, I love Persian cuisine And have been eating it for over 30 plus years and this does not even come close. Change your chef, and the way you store and cook your food OR YOU WILL BE OUT OF BUSINESS. Success equals quality...
