Pizza Hut — Restaurant in Town of North Hempstead

I am going to be critical because I hope management sees this and makes necessary changes.

I've always liked Pizza Hut's pizza and I decided to have lunch here rather than just go to Taco Bell or Popeyes.

The restaurant is still a quaint little "hut" style with reasonable decor and seating for around 50 before things get crowded.

I ordered a stuffed crust meat lover's personal pizza but my order was rejected because they don't make stuffed crust personal sized pizzas. So right there I was upset.

Instead, I settled for a $6 "personal pizza" which I expected to be at least the equivalent size of 2 slices of NY style pizza. There are no photos of the personal pizza size or warnings about portions. The waitress comes back with a DESSERT SIZED PIE PLATE that has a small, public school lunch sized pizza on it. For that same amount of money, I could have gone to Little Caesar's and gotten 4TIMES AS MUCH FOOD for the same $6. LC's personal lunch pizza is huge by comparison.

The seating wasn't great either. My table was rickety and wobbling back and forth like a bobble head doll.

The menu's were split in half from wear. Did no one ever consider taking them to Staples and laminating them???

I also ordered a small buffalo wing basket which was about $6 and was delicious with a decent serving of Blue Cheese dressing.

I also had a Mountain Dew soda - but as far as I can tell either they don't offer free refills or the waitress made no attempt to ask if I wanted a refill.

I haven't eaten in Pizza Hut in a while because it's fattening, high-calorie food. Fortunately, the corporatized taste hasn't changed. Unfortunately, the menu isn't exciting and the salad bar is sitting there completely vacant as if it's an afterthought.

It made me wonder: how can they compete with the other restaurants in the area or even regular pizza restaurants. I spent $20 for an underwhelming meal....

I ate here, with the family, to have the "Pizza Hut" experience that I had as a child.

The place was fairly clean, yet the ladies bathroom was pretty gross. The light switch was not gross from age but from a lack of cleaning. The dining table could have used a little wiping down.

The salad bar was basic and the Catalina dressing was like Elmer's glue; this was so disappointing.

The wings were ok, a bit red on the inside but a 2.5 out of 5.

The hype was all about the privilege of eating hot out of the oven pan pizza, oozing with cheese and covered with sauce and toppings.

I wish I could say that it was what it used to be but alas, it wasn't. The pizza was a mere "meh" of my memories and although the kids loved the crust, they're weren't blown away. The sauce was practically nonexistent, the cheese wasn't chewy, and the toppings were a challenge to find.

Outside of spending time with my family in a now "greasy spoon," I have very little desire to return. If I eat Pizza Hut again, it will be take out and if I want to enjoy the favorite pizza of my childhood, I'll go to the grocery store, pick up a Digiorno's, and call it a night.

The service was average speed; the hospatility was a 4 out of 5 only because upon our arrival, the place was empty with only two large family seating choices. We walked in and chose a table but was told to go back and wait to be seated. Although absurd, we completed and ended up being walked over to our initial seating choice due to "protocol."

It's Pizza Hut, not Mr. Chow's.

Almost rated it a three but we came for the pizza which was a poor example of what...

Ordered and waited over 45 minutes (and we were just about to leave) for our food, which turned out to be extremely undercooked, so we had to send it back to get cooked. Granted, it was a Friday night, but the were only 4 parties seated inside, so it really shouldn't haven't taken that long. Lots of people in the back kitchen but more playing and joking around going on instead of working. Only one woman serving (they didn't really need more), who was just standing around most of the time or in and out of the restaurant to make phone calls. It probably would have been a good idea for her to clean the filthy tables and chairs or maybe check up on customers. Seems as though the take out orders were going out just fine though. It was a raggedy, horrible experience, but we thought to try the dine it for our baby. Will never, ever go...
