Houlihan's — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

I literally just left this place and my experience was terrible. I order the appetizer sampler and when it was brought to the table we didn't have sharing plates. my girlfriend got up to get napkins from the bar because the waiter was nowhere to be found. I also ordered a french onion soup after my appetizer which I only got after my dinner was served. My brother ordered a filet mignon medium well and what was served was unacceptable. A burnt 2 oz of steak. I will be posting a picture soon. I was looking for a my waiter, couldn't find him. My girlfriend got up, walked all the way to the kitchen to get someone because there was nobody on the floor, no manager, no waiter. After the waiter took my brothers steak the manager came to the table to apologize he admitted that what was served to us was unacceptable and got us a new steak. When my brother got the new steak he took two bites and asked me to taste it. That steak was inedible. I got up again and looked for the manager he again apologized for our experience asked if there was anything he could do to make our night better and we said no because we just wanted to get out of there and he took out of the check one main course and the soup and gave us a free appetizer and free main course ticket. Took a date here on a random Thursday evening on her suggestion. Took no time to get a booth, and was promptly greeted by our server Colleen, who was a very pleasant young lady. We ordered drinks and appetizers. The calamari we ordered was lighty breaded and very tasty. The nachos were OUT OF THIS WORLD good. VERY big portion. Could easily feed 3-4 people, maybe more. And they were piping hot. Filling, but very good.

We ordered grilled salmon and a breaded chicken salad. The salad was a little weird as it came almost "deconstructed", with the greens, chicken, and other ingredients separated on the plate, but it tasted good. The salmon was perfect. I got the sweet potato fries to substitute the white mash, and was very satisfied. Bill came to about $100 plus tip, and we used a Yelp coupon which gave us a free dessert with 2 entrees. The only drag on the place is that it's a little dark, as in, the lighting is very low. You can see everything going on around you, but it took awhile for our eyes to adjust. No big deal.

Came here October 2015 for a friends birthday and had a good time then as well. I like this place and I will be back! Thank you Houlihan's for a wonderful...

I usually have no complaints about this place. But on Saturday night it was horrible. When we arrived we got seated very quickly but then service was horrible took forever just for a waiter to come by with menus. We order a few simple items like fajitas, chicken wings, and chicken fingers. He brought the chicken wings out first my bf ate one and said they were gross tasted as if they were microwaved. When we ordered chicken fingers waiter asked if we wanted entree with fries or just appetizer we said just the appetizer but instead he charged and gave us the entree. He brought out the tortillas for the fajitas fairly quickly. But then it took about 30 mins for the chicken fingers to come then he still didn't bring the fajitas so we had to wait about another 10 mins by that time the tortillas were dry and hard! So had to wait for him to come pass to stop him for new tortillas. He never once came by to see how everything was or if we need new drinks or anything he again was passing by when we had to stop him to ask for the check. Don't know what was going on in there that night but it was horrible service. Won't ne...
