Been here a few times now, the service is always top-notch. They are polite, helpful and don't make it seem like it's a problem to ask for things. (Ie., more water, a forgotten soup, steamed instead of fried shumi...) I spoke to Cindy for a moment which I enjoyed and she offered, unasked, to bring me hot water since she knew I was cold, which I as appreciated. She seemed like a warm caring person. David too was attentive. I didn't catch the names of the other two. I'd give higher than a 5 for service from the whole staff if able.
As for the food, I did leave full, but I enjoyed the company, not the food. On the all-you-can-eat menu, the rolls were uninspired, the seaweed salad was dry and tasteless, the ginger a bit stringy, and one friend said that though she enjoyed the onion in the center, the beef satay was tough, so she left it over. Also left over were the dumplings which she did not like. The Tamago was enjoyed and additional were ordered. Edamame was ordered, but I was told they lacked flavor. Another friend tried the fried Oreo for the 1st time & was unimpressed. Unknown if that had to do with the batter being tempura or not as she'd never had the original style either. Third person ordered 2 [veg.] rolls off the the menu, she enjoyed them emencsely. I appreciated the flavor of the steamed shumi, and the fact that one can order sashimi. The sushi's rice-to-fish ratio seemed ungenerous so I melded the two by putting sashimi on sushi, but it of course charged the flavor of both.
Also left thirsty which happens occasionally when too much salt is used.
Only including one photo as I prefer to dine with friends without being on my phone. The photo shows that cavier is served here, but the ratio is exactly what you see. The eggs did not have enough flavor to be savored, so it was mostly just ball of rice.
Final report; would not avoid this restaurant, but wouldn't go out of my way...
Read moreI ordered Katsu Don, My wife orders pad Thai. The food was ok. Katsu Don needed a little more flavor. It was more on the bland side. Pad Thai was kind of sweet but ok as well. I felt like overall it was ok. My food came with miso soup. The atmosphere was nice and the waiters we're attentive and friendly. The service was fast. They have a deal for all you can eat sushi where you fill out a card on what you will eat. If I remember correctly it's $27 per person and $30 on weekends. Although the food was underwhelming I will go back this week to try out the sushi. In the photo provided you see the plates of unlimited sushi ready to be served. I'll give an update when I come back.
Update: I ate all you can eat sushi. It was a much better experience. I started off with 24 rolls. After you make an order you can order again in case you wanted to pace yourself at first. The sushi was good. My wife had teriyaki. It was sweet from the sauce and the chicken was crispy. After I had my first plate. It seemed like the waiter didn't pay attention to us anymore. I had to catch him. I thought maybe he's making us wait because the food would settle and we would be full. I shook myself up and said not yet! I ordered 32 more rolls. When it was served I noticed it was just 24. Thank goodness I barely finished. Seems like 35 rolls is my limit. At the end we finished with ice cream which was part of the menu. We had sodas which is charged separate and the two orders of all you can eat. I'll attach the receipt. If you're a sushi lover and want to get filled this place is good. It'll be a while before I return just because I'm full at the time of...
Read moreI had previously given a 5 star rating based on prior experience but my recent visit left a bad taste in my mouth. I hope the owner reads this and reaches out as your manager has terrible communication skill.
While there for the AYCE, my wife and I did not finish the rice from the sushi on our order. We have been there many times and this was never an issue, nor has anyone said anything. We tried to order a second plate and your manager said she could no longer serve us food because I didn't finish the rice. She said there would be a surcharge for uneaten food, which bear in mind was just rice. Fine. Tell me what the surcharge is, and let us continue ordering sashimi which is part of the all you can eat. She said No, they can't serve us any more food. We had barely ordered anything the first round. I tried to ask her why she can't just apply a surcharge for the rice and let us proceed with ordering. She would not even speak with me. Instead she said she was scared and was going to call the cops. Scared of what? A legitimate question from a patron who eats there monthly. I suggested she call the cops, but my wife and I had theater tickets and she didn't want this to run late. Thanks for ruining Valentine's.
If the owner is there, I would like to have a conversation with you. Since your manager refuses to speak or have a conversation, perhaps you will. You have lost several clients. Our families frequent and friends frequent the location too.
We were still handed the bill after and paid for AYCE despite not being allowed to order food. In essence we...
