I live out of town in Virginia but my parents live in Huntington, I continuously order to go and freeeze these bagels for when I am back in VA because they are simply the best . The staff here are always friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better.

I am only writing this in hopes of helping someone else avoid an awful experience. I work in the area and had been to Brendel's many times before. I had noticed a general decline in the service but had avoided any real issues until this recent time. I walked in and although the place was not busy I received no service or even a hello for a few minutes. The 2 guys working behind the counter appeared dirty and in no rush! Once I finally ordered the simple, 2 sandwich order, I was already concerned because I could tell the guy wasn't listening well. Sure enough, once I had driven back to the office, one of the sandwiches was wrong. After driving back for the second time, the same guy took the order without writing it again. After I told him to write it, he went to fix it. This took a very long time and he only made one of the sandwiches fresh. By the time, I got back for the second time, the food was cold. Basically I will never return here and do everything I can to get the Bad word out. Too many places have crap service and don't care. ENOUGH! If you can't make my food the way it should be and provide good service while doing it, you should be called out! I hope they try harder but if they don't I'm sure they will be fine. The woman I placed our orders with rolled her eyes when I asked for two BECs with salt pepper and ketchup. After waiting 15 minutes the sandwiches finally came out. My fiancée and I also got an Arizona, a Snapple, a coffee and 2 small bags of chips. She was ringing us up and told me to not pay attention to what it says on the screen(where it says your total). So I was confused and I said okay… $40 for that stuff and the screen was correct. We sat down to eat and discovered there wasn’t any salt pepper or ketchup on the sandwiches. I figured whatever we have somewhere to be and we’re about to be late because we had to wait for the food and to be helped in the first place. I go to use the bathroom before leaving and I go to leave the bathroom and the deadbolt broke and I was locked in the bathroom. I had to text my fiancée and she told someone at the counter and she said they turned around to tell someone and they said “it’s the bathroom door again” like it’s something they deal with all the time. Luckily they knew how to get me out. I’m not one to post reviews about places but that was the cherry on top for me. Never coming back again and with all the other places in the area you can get a good egg sandwich, not get over charged and get locked in the bathroom, I recommend driving...
