As a total foodie, I can honestly say Besito in Huntington delivered one of the best dining experiences of my life. From start to finish, everything about this place was top-notch—the food, the drinks, and especially the service exceeded all expectations.
Let’s start with the drinks: these were hands-down the best margaritas I’ve ever had. The Piña Picante margarita and Sandia watermelon margarita were absolute perfection—fresh, balanced, and bursting with flavor. We also did a tequila flight, and our server Marlon made the entire experience unforgettable. His knowledge of tequila was unmatched—he guided us through the flight with such passion and expertise, selecting 7 Leguas, Avión, and Casa Dragones. It ended up being some of the finest tequila I’ve ever tasted, and it was clear we were in the hands of someone who truly cares about delivering a memorable experience.
The food was just as outstanding. We began with their warm, crispy chips and phenomenal salsa and guacamole, followed by the chicken tortilla soup, which was hearty and flavorful. For entrées, the Arrachera grilled skirt steak was cooked to absolute perfection—tender, juicy, and beautifully paired with arugula, roasted corn, queso fresco, and pomegranate vinaigrette. We also tried the Sonora ribs, glazed with agave, chipotle, and lime. The meat literally fell off the bone and was bursting with smoky, tangy flavor.
And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, dessert arrived. The Tres Leche cake was out of this world—the best we’ve ever had. It was incredibly fresh, moist, and absolutely delicious, the perfect sweet ending to an unforgettable meal.
On top of the incredible food and drinks, what truly set this night apart was the service. Marlon went above and beyond with his warmth, professionalism, and deep knowledge—he didn’t just serve us, he guided us through a culinary and cocktail journey that made the night unforgettable. And manager Moises was equally exceptional—he greeted us right away, checked in multiple times throughout the night, and made sure every detail of our experience was flawless. Their attentiveness and genuine hospitality are what elevated an already amazing dinner into something truly special.
The newly renovated space adds to the atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for a date night or special occasion. Besito isn’t just good—it’s easily in my top three restaurants of all time. If you love Spanish food, great drinks, and impeccable service, this is...
Read moreOk, I'm going to be a bit harsh, but I'll separate the lipstick on my water glass from the taste of the food. I know mistakes can happen in the restuarant business.
Firstly, the salsa: failed. It has lime juice which is good, and garlic, but people, you can't drown salsa in lime juice and cut up OLD garlic, people can taste this... ( I can pick better spices and veggies from stop & shop, and make it better). It took me a while to pin it down but the garlic was definitely not fresh. Salsa is one of the simplest, freshest, tasty appetizers out there. I was let down from the beginning.
Second, they don't have fajitas they have street tacos, which I ordered. Never, I repeat never, in my world traveling to Mexico pretty much weekly - monthly for work, and traveling to many Spanish countries on tour; have I tasted such dry chicken..... the audacity to name it ":street tacos". SMH. I've had street tacos in both LA and Mexico so many times. In fact on the Bublé tour we would always go crazy for them. It was a fav for everyone.
I don't know how you can cook Mexican chicken street tacos and it come out dehydrated, suuuuper dry and on top of the strangest cheese I've ever encountered. I wanted to ask the chef "would your mother or relatives eat this chicken?" Nevertheless, I persavered.
The food was just bad. Maybe it was just this one experience but, if you fail on plain old salsa then odds are you're doing Mexican all wrong... I'm not even Mexican but if you want real chicken tacos, I can do better in just an hours notice.... for real.
The best thing was the rice, which wasn't even Mexican, it was just salty white rice which was ok at best.
Props to the server who adjusted the bill, but I don't go out to eat to have the bill adjusted, I go out to eat to experience dishes of some of the nearby chefs, which I assume to know how to cook and serve meat, vegetarian dishes and just classic good food.
I don't know who's paying people to write all these amazing reviews, but stop. Food is simple,
It's a nice environment and maybe I'll give them another shot, maybe they can...

Typically I hate paying for food that I can usually cook better at home. Having worked in the food service industry myself throught my life, my expectations seem to outpace my experiences at resturants. At Besito if Huntington, this was not the case at all. It was money well spent. The experience and ambiance, the food, the service, the wait time, the cocktails, were all overall, and, individually, exceptional. The staff is pleasant, bright with smiles, and accommodating. They are polished and polite, without being overbearing. This place should teach other restaurants how to win. The food was, again, exceptional. Flavor was spot on, and again, not overbearing nor over seasoned. The carne asada was the best I have ever had. #1 by a mile. I dont think Ill be able to tolerate it now even at some of the best other restaurants I know. They use a select and generous cut of skirt steak that is cooked to absolute perfected temp selection. The guacamole is delcious as they are known for. The drinks were generous as well without being overboard or too strong. The drinks taste and look well crafted. The sprits used tasted upper shelf and were blended perfectly.
The decor is very nice and balanced. It blends nicely into the backround. Its has a modern Latin feel and authenticity without jumping out at you and being kitschy or gaudy.
Besito will not disappoint and I encourage you to experience and enjoy it for yourself.
Expect to pay $100 per couple + gratuity, but, willingly parting with your money as a wonderful way to eat and spend a night out. If your taking out or meeting a date or other couples or business associates for their first time, expect they will compliment your selection to spend the lunch or dinner at Besito. (We had dinner there at 6pm on...
