I have to agree with a few reviews here, I am shocked by these many great reviews. I wanted to love this place but it is a no go for me and my family. I am very familiar with the Smash-burger. But we were absolutely shocked when it came out. I was starving so I ate some..I just tasted onions pickles and cheese grease it looked deep fried, my family wrapped theirs after a bite or 2 and threw it in the garbage. We ordered the double smash burgers figured it would be some bulk there based on the conversation with the person taking the order. When I looked at my family members burgers that did not order any cheese, onions or pickles and it looked like a thin slice of old burnt bologna so rubbery it completely grossed me out. I was starving looking forward to a cheesy double smash! The fries are something that you can buy in the frozen section at the supermarket and pop in an oven. Nothing to write home about here overly priced for what you get. You are better off at sonic. You can’t spend $57 on 3 burgers and 1 order of fries and feel like you’re just eating condiments like cheese, onions, bun and some mystery meat not juicy beef. Literally, “Where’s the Beef?????” i really never seen anything like it. Can’t tell if it’s 100% angus or 100% a mystery. Also as we were eating a family walked in and they looked like the owners..they were walking behind the counter they didn’t smile, one was on a cell phone in and out, no hello or even a nod. Almost like They didn’t care or appreciate people were there spending money. I looked for the man who took the order to tell him but he wasn’t at the counter just the family who walked in and scattered. We had to go eat someplace else afterwards, Sorry but The best thing here is the decor. Don’t waste your money. Go down the street to Imc restaurant they serve a porterhouse sliced steak for 2 just $50 on Wednesday and Thursday...
Read moreThe burger and fries were decent. I was hungry and looking for a basic burger, and it hit the spot. The issue is the burger is WAY too small and too expensive. I don't think I've ever seen a burger patty this thin.
I know prices are high these days, but a double smash is $11, and fries are an additional $5. For $12.50, I can get a double smash burger and fries at Rust and Gold that has more meat on it and, in my opinion tastes better.
Also, while there is seating, this is not a full service restaurant, which makes the price more difficult to justify.
08/05/2024: BRGRs says "Thank you for taking your time out to try our restaurant we take pride in our ingredients and we source the best meats for our burgers hence why we price our items accordingly we recommend new customers that didn't try our food before to always get the double smashed because when we smashed our patties to get the right amount of delicious crust it loses a lot of its fats so the original Patty shrinks. Come on and try our double you will not be disappointed."
I feel this response is a bit condescending, as if the primary issue is my ignorance of smash burgers.
I've had smash burgers and made them at home plenty of times before, so I know what they should taste like. And I did have the double smashed, not the single. IMO, the primary issue with the size is the patties are so small that you cannot get a good sear on them without overcooking. The patties are both under crusted and overcooked. Like I said in my initial review, not a terrible burger, but for these prices, I expect it to...
