We decided to check out Edoardo's Trattoria after a recommendation from a friend, and we are so glad we did! The night couldn't have been better. The food was amazing, and the vibe was welcoming. When we got there, we were welcomed by McKenna, who is a sweetheart, friendly, funny, and the owner of an adorable dog. While waiting for our table, we sat at the bar and (happily) decided to eat there instead of at a table. Good choice (in our opinion) because we got the chance to meet Adi, who was friendly & so passionate about the food and the restaurant in general. It all made for such an enjoyable evening! The bread was homemade, and there was a thin, crispy flat that was so good! As a starter, we had the Prosciutto and pineapple (with burrata and candied hazelnuts). The combination of the prosciutto, the carmelized pineapple, and the creamy burrata was perfection. (Next trip, we want to try the mussels, they look so good!) Next up, we split a pappardelle alla bolognese. Hand-made pasta and a rich beef ragu, what more could you as for! For our entrees, Tom had the pollo scarpariello. According to Tom, it was the best he has had (and believe me, it's his favorite, so if it's on the menu, he's getting it). I tried some, and I have to agree, it was great...tender, and well seasoned. I had the veal scallopini valdostana...tender veal complemented by mashed potatoes with a subtle flavor of rosemary. Utterly delicious! Dessert was a basil panna cotta with a mixed berry reduction and fresh whipped cream. The panna cotta was so creamy, and the combination of savory basil and sweet berries was pure heaven. We had wine with dinner (and some great limoncello to finish), but the martinis looked great and are definitely on my to try list. The dish of mixed sweet and sour gummies that accompanied the check was a great touch. Before leaving, we had the pleasure of meeting Chef Edoardo (Adi's father). Not just a talented chef, he is sweet, humble, and just so nice! The experience made the trip from Queens to Huntington well worth it. We will absolutely be returning and highly recommend Edoardo's to anyone who prizes having fresh, delicious food prepared with care in a friendly, welcoming...
Read moreVery lively atmosphere. This was my second time at Eduardos and the quality of food was consistent (except for the bread -stale). The authenic home made pastas did not disappoint. Very light and tasteful, just the right portion size. Not too large and enough to keeep you satisfied. - Pasta Nonna, Bolognese Papadelle, roasted zuchini with glazed onions pasta dishes were all very good. The salads were also very good. The Branzino was excellent but not exceptional and did not warrant a $45 charge. The four star rating (would have given 3.5 if I could) is due to pricing. Main courses are very high such as branzino that was mentioned and a $65 dove sole . Also, when the check came I was shocked at the charge for a $30 martini and $25 margarita. Although professionally made and very good quality, these standard drinks were not listed on their drink menu. I didn't expect that I should ask for the price; like asking for a price of a sepcial at other restarurants wher the price is not listed. Their specialty drinks were cheaper. If I were to go again, I would stick to pasta dishes and a glass of wine. I can't justify the entree and drink prices and expect consistency in quality even with the bread served at the table. The first time it was fresh and delicious. Also, the first time they served the check with a little bucket of gummy candies, not the second time. Maybe they did this the first time to ease the sticker shock of the tab. They shoudl have done it the second...
Read moreThe latest addition to Huntington Village food scene is a wonderful Italian trattoria on the corner of Rte 110 and Gerard. Upon entering, not only are you immediately indulged by a huge selection of pastries, desserts, and treats but you are offered a perfectly curated selection of breakfast options, pasta dishes, and paninis. Impressively, everyone of these items is made in-house and you even have the option of purchasing a variety of ready-made pasta sauces and fresh ready-to-cook pastas (e.g., parpadelle, gluten free gnocchi, and even red beet buccatini). there was plenty of seating inside and outside, there's even a window into the workspace. We shared the Azienda panini - yum! - and a smorgasbord of desserts - babba, sfiogatella, chocolate torte caprese, and a chocolate profiterole - everything was so so good! The babba really was something special: a spongy, moist cake served with a sliver of candied orange and fresh whipped cream...I would eat this every day if I could! If you are a morning coffee kind of person, give this place a try and I guarantee you'll become a regular. The interior was perfectly appointed: elegant yet relaxed/rustic, and the owners (husband and wife team) made the experience even better with their friendly service. from the food/drinks to the ambience to the cute little vases of fresh flowers on every table to the sugar packets being served in antique tea cups, every detail was on point and made for an extraordinary...
