Gracia's Taqueria & More — Restaurant in Town of Huntington

I so wanted to like this place. We needed a Mexican restaurant in the area. When we walked in the people couldn’t have been nicer. And I got a good vibe until the food started coming out.

Prices are not cheap. But that’s OK. Given the times it’s understandable. However the basket of chips are very small and no one tells you that you need to pay for any additional chips. Plus condiments. We ordered because we were a table of six obviously we needed more chips. But I digress.

The drinks were a fortune with almost no alcohol in it. But onto the food.

I ordered an enchilada combo three enchiladas with refried beans and rice with a small salad included in the combination I expected a nice size meal. When the meal came out you needed a magnifying glass to find it. It was the smallest enchiladas I’ve ever seen they had to be 2 inches long. You could count the amount of rice by the green and the refried beans literally came in one of those little condiment things if it’s a half an ounce it was a lot. Everyone else’s meal was also minuscule. I’d rather you charge more money and give us a full adult plate. Needless to say we were starving when we left all six of us had to get additional food an hour later when we arrived at another destination where we were starting a show. We've came here a few times before it's great this is the first time we had a big problem It was very busy because it was a weekend there was a party going on. Lots of people celebrations. It was only three of us. We called ahead. For 6PM showed up around 6:15 still didn't have a table waited another 15 minutes there was a table. They were so busy. The girl took 30 minutes to get our food and drink order and then the appetizer came out with the food. The guacamole appetizer was supposed to come out before the food. We asked for extra sour cream, extra lettuce. They gave us a tiny bit of it. The girl had an attitude. The food was pretty good. but the tacos were cold and I made them make new ones because no one's eating cold tacos. And I told him to take the guacamole off the bill because they bought it late is an appetizer it was supposed to come before the food. Never coming...

Service was good and Mexican decor was simple. The corn chips served instead of bread were excellent. However, while one dipping sauce was a plain black bean sauce without much taste, there was an extremely hot orange sauce also served which should never have been put on the table without a request for something like that. It was way beyond "hot," and it's a good thing that no more than the tip of a fork was used to test it. Tostito brand hot dipping salsa doesn't come close to this. Our party had different entrees, which were just OK at best, but one of them was a chicken dish that had what looked like 3 thin small chicken cutlets that were somewhat blackened, tasteless and very dry with no sauce except the bean sauce on the table for the chips.
