Pancho Villa's — Restaurant in Town of Huntington

I am very disappointed, this place held a special place for us, as it was the site of our first date 30 plus years ago. My wife wanted to return and we did last night. The waitstaff was cordial, we were seated right away but the restaurant was dark and loud, we almost had to shout at one another to chat, there was loud music playing and it had no ambience. A guy pouring water came by and poured water into a glass but most of it on the table, didn't come back to clean it up. Our waiter, nice guy came by and we ordered. Nacho's for an app, and two dinners. The nachos, were good...its nachos, what could go wrong? However the dinners we got were extremely average, I got something called Arroz De Pollo, and it kind of tasted like chicken fried rice from a chinese food place, which to me was kind of funny, because we were in a Mexican place. My dinner came with a salad, which I got balsamic vinegar. The balsamic vinegar had some salad in it, and it was uneatable, you could pour it out of the bowl. But what bothered us, was the Mexican rap music being played around the place, I felt like we were at a club for younger people and I am not an old man, but we came to the conclusion that we had grown past this place, and that was sad, Our first date there was quiet, we could eat and not shout, the food was better, we have been there many times through the years, but something has changed, and after we walked around, we realized it was...

This place used to be pretty great, but failed miserably this past weekend.

Got the grilled chicken taco salad, which used to be a reasonably sized entree, even recommended it to my friends who were with me. Pancho Villa's should be absolutely embarrassed by what they served us. The thing was the size of a coffee mug with maybe a single chicken nugget-sized portion of chicken in it, hardly any lettuce. God, it was pathetic. They covered the whole plate in a thin layer of their gross filler refried beans and rice. I was embarrassed for recommending it.

They should be ashamed.

Also, the margarita was awful too. I've never tasted a saltier drink, and I'm not talking about the salt on the rim, I mean, it literally tasted like they spilled a salt shaker's worth of salt in the drink. It didn't taste tart, or limey, or boozy, only salty.

Sangria was as sugary as a regular coke.

Only bright spots were: great guacamole, even made at the table; our waiter was on top of things, kept the great chips and salsa coming; singing happy birthday was pretty great, dessert was good.

But seriously, you'd think this place had never seen a busy night before. Whole staff seemed to be freaking out over what really didn't seem like an extreme number of people.

Went there for a quick bite to eat and was fairly disappointed by the service. We were sat in a crevice in the back when the restaurant was fairly empty so that was a bit odd. Didn't get to order food because our server was confused by our drink orders so the bartender comes out to explain something about the drinks and the prices.. super condescending about it as well trying to explain to us about what goes in certain drinks and what doesn't. He has a right to his opinion so we left it at that. The server comes back after that and ids us all even though previously he had ignored my drink order, takes it to the back somewhere and then finally comes back (I've never been to a restaurant that has done that so I'm not sure what they need to take my ID for?). It takes forever for them to come with the drinks and we still had yet to order food. The server is yet to be seen again and a bus boy helps us for the rest of the night. We were frustrated at that point so we decided against the food and decided to go to crabtree down the street instead. So when we ask for the check and we pay, we start walking out and the bartender stops us because he thought we hadn't paid. the server checks that we left the correct amount and only then are we allowed to leave.
