Five Guys — Restaurant in Town of Islip

Is there any better smell on earth than burgers and fries cooking? If you love burgers and are not allergic to peanuts I hope you've tried 5 guys. They use peanut oil and have stacks of bags of peanuts in the restaurant so of you have a peanut allergy I would stay away, and also I feel very badly for you that you cannot eat a 5 guys burger or peanutbutter. Anyway, their burgers are not just good for a fast food franchise, they're really good, period. Good meat, peanut oil adds flavor, they use high quality bacon, and there's a ton of toppings to choose from that you can add for free. Their cajun fries are also just about my favorite fries, and the portion of fries is ridiculous. They give you a cup full of fries in a bag filled with more fries on the bottom. The shakes are phenomenal as well, super thick, and many flavor options (including peanutbutter, chocolate, oreo, coffee, and BACON! It's got an oldschool 50s style burger joint vibe with the red and white checkered designs and the burgers and shakes. They keep their menu simply but execute to perfection. I tend to post alot of bad reviews of eateries because when I have a bad experience I want to share it so that others can avoid having one, so I decided that for the sake of balance I should add good reviews for local places that really deserve it. If my doctor didn't tell me I need to cut back on cholesterol I might eat 5...

Edit had to change my review because I visited this location recently and they are doing much better. Food and quality are good and the customer service is amazing and down to earth. Things change.

The service and food quality and cooks. Are slowing declining at This five guys. The service and customer service used to be great at this location. But that is going away. We went and got both our order wrong and didn’t do their signature fill the fries to the bottom of the bag. We then waited for another bag of fries which was nice but the fries were soggy and gross. We got home and realized our burgers had other toppings we didn’t ask for. We called up asked if we could be compensated. They offered 20% off our next meal. Yea no thanks we want a refund. We wrote a letter and got 20$ in gift card even though our order was 27$ how do you expect to keep customers like that? Will admit though the manager was nice just didn’t really give us good compensation for our meal.

Anyways other locations are great. The food is usually Awesome at five guys but this shop is on the slow decline. Would recommend hitting...

Twice visited since the grand opening; On the first visit, a walk-in, one of the two Coca-Cola Freestyle machines was not operational. However, the employee at the register was super pleasant and took my order quickly. It didn't take too long to prepare my meal and it was delicious! For my second visit, I placed the order with the Five Guys app ahead of time. I waited at the outside seating area until my pick-up time. Whereas they normally call out the order number for walk-in orders, they don't have the best check-in for app orders. It took about five minutes before someone asked me about my order which was ready. Then, I was instructed to get my drink cup from the cashier. Check-in for app orders could be somewhat better.
