Sal's Pizzeria and Catering — Restaurant in Town of Islip

Firstly, I’ve gone to Sal’s Pizzeria ever since I was a kid since I used to live in Sayville so it was always a go-to place! I came here way before they did their renovations, and it was a lot bigger a long time ago when they first opened! I’ve always remembered their pizza being absolutely outrageous and delicious!!!

Anyhow Aegeans Pizzeria by the sun vet mall was my all time place and on the top of my list, but unfortunately they closed so about a few months ago I went back to Sal’s to see if they were still good, as I haven’t gone there in years! I went here with my boyfriend, and I’ll tell you they definitely changed up their set up, and must’ve did some renovations since it’s a lot smaller now than it was a long time ago.

The pricing is pretty good and decent, and the atmosphere is pretty nice and simple just to sit down and have a quick little lunch or dinner. The staff are good, and rather very quick! My boyfriend usually gets the BBQ Chicken Pizza, and I usually get my Traditional/Regular Pizza. Both are absolutely delicious, and delightful and it tastes the exact same as I used to remember it, and it’s always stayed consistent with its pizza! The crust is always nice and full, and the pizza is never soggy but crispy! Sometimes we’d get takeout and eat in the car, whilst it’s still warm!!!

Overall, I recommend on getting this place! It’s the best pizza place around, and there’s no other pizza place like this near by so this is my top favorite! Placed an order for a "heart shaped" pizza for my wife and daughters. They said 45 minutes. When it hit 1 hour (i just assumed busy because of the day, no big deal i dont care about a little bit longer) I called. They said " its on the way". ANOTHER 20 minutes went by. Finally get the pizza. So 1:20min for a half plain, half pepperoni, with 12 knots... wow. When I ordered I specifically asked if they will have change of a $20 bill, they said yes (bill was $29. This girl gets here, I give her $40. She puts it all in her pocket... I actually had to ask if I could get the rest of my money back. Being that im generous, I only asked for $5 back, but should have given $0. Finally get the pizza in the house, open it up, and what do you know?! In the oven to warm it up. Cold pizza on top of it all. I called and explained the situation. Once I was done explaining what had happened, I paused on the phone. Waited for them to rectify this. Nothing. They just said "ok".
