Positives: Amazing Wings, great flavor and some of the best coal charred Wings I’ve ever had. Clean and impressive bathrooms. Open view of kitchen. Very clean and ran well. Active owner who tried to greet all customers and ready to answer any questions. Sadly that seems to getting pretty rare nowadays.
Negatives: Horrible Pizza, very disappointing and underwhelming and nearly undercooked. Overstaffed. They had more employees than customers, and at least two of them was always doing nothing. Now this normally wouldn’t be an issue for the customer experience, but a waitress was standing right next to me (actually right next to me) doing nothing for at least 5 minutes. I felt like I was being starred at every time I went to eat. Water. Yes you read that write, water. Their unique take on serving a basic beverage is having abnormally small cups faced down on a (dirty) table, then bringing a case of water for us to pour ourselves. Extremely unnecessary and disgusting. The tables had literal dirt on them and the cups still had spots from the dishwasher. Not to mention the water was warm and stored in a mini fridge without ice.
Overall:
The experience itself was just ‘meh’. The food wasn’t too impressive, but the staffing situation and environment was horrible. I won’t be coming back and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a good meal. After writing this I’m realizing why they had more employees than customers on a Saturday...
Read moreI am a Lewiston local and tried Gallo at the old location but always take out. Pizza was always good but on the more expensive side. We have now been to the New location twice for dinner and once at their coffee shop. First time food was ok but not worth the price when you factor in portions. Second time we went we got calamari that was really bad and they served us a pizza that they definitely messed up because it didn’t look anything like anyone else’s around us, it had to be 4 inches smaller in diameter and was burnt. The coffee shop was kinda funny, I went in a couple months after it opened and they were out of iced coffee cups and cream. So the girl charged me for a regular iced coffee but put it in a small Dixie cup (lid didn’t match the cup) full of ice and no joke about 2oz of coffee. My wife’s had about a 3-1 ratio of vanilla syrup to coffee. Idk if the girl was new but I’m sure we will give both places another chance and if they’ve improved on just the service and quality I will adjust my review. Price shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that has seen their $8 jar of sauce at Tops next to the $3 chef’s sauce. They really do think they have something special and maybe they do but I keep catching them...
Read moreRating two stars for the friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Unfortunately after this is where I lose anything positive to say. We ordered two entrees and an appetizer to go for dinner. Our appetizer was garlic parm coal fired wings which looked good but were very undercooked and lacking any flavor at all, it was as if they were just shaken in olive oil. Then move onto both entrees and they were completely lacking any and all flavor. The chicken cutlets were chewy and tasted like they had been prepared in overused frying oil. The pasta was so overcooked it was disintegrating while trying to pick it up with a fork. The basil pesto sauce was gritty and flavorless and the pomadoro was was unseasoned tomato purée. Lastly and I hate to complain about this but as an up charge I added a meatball that was $4 and was served something about 1/2 the size of a golf ball. After great reviews and pretty high expectations it’s sad to say that this meal has deterred us from...
