We ordered the pretzel with assorted mustard ($5.49) we opted for the cheese sauce ($0.99). Upon arrival we received 1 pretzel and a small cup of what we assumed was beer cheese. Not what we expected for the price. Soda was served in plastic disposable cups. I ordered the Caeser salad with grilled chicken ($7.99 + $2.99 for the protein) and my husband had the special Jalepeno Cheddar brat with chips ($10.99). My salad finally came and was set in the middle of the table and we were told "they" (we assume the kitchen) messed up the brat. We later figured out there was no bun for the brat and someone had to go get them! We know this because we watched an employee come in and hand them to the bartender! The salad part was ok, lettuce was slightly warm and the chicken was terribly dry. Once the brat came my husband began laughing. The brat had been sliced down the middle and grilled and served on a bun. Now this is where it gets interesting... the jalepenos were from a jar and spooned on top and then 2 slices of cheddar were laid across that. The cheese was warmed just enough to allow the grease to seep out but not melt. YUCK! When the food had all been delivered we didn't see the waiter until we were done and we asked for the bill. I can tell you we were shocked to see our total was $34.74! We've been coming to Minocqua for many years and we keep hoping Otto's will turn things around. We have had bad service and long waits for meals before. What keeps us coming back is the food had been worth the wait and the garden is wonderful to sit in. Sadly this was the last time...

I really enjoyed the beer, cider, and the bartender was a lot of fun with good banter and discussion, guidance on spirits and beers, and we tipped well. Then we sat down and had just a horrible waitress who seemed like she was either on something and dead to the world or she was so apathetic to her job that she could care less about anything. Nothing was done right down to no silverware, no water, when asked for water by 2 people she delivered it to the other end of the 2 tables. She couldn't remember any drinks. Couldn't remember what anyone ordered, my wife asked for a side of ranch twice for our daughters chicken strips because the waitress had spilled the one it came with. She asked for a glass of ice twice which never came, and so on...many more examples all the way to not picking up payment or getting to go boxes. It's typical Northwoods service with zero attention to quality and just doing the bare minimum.

Food was pretty good though and all around everyone raved at what was presented except for the stadium nachos with a meh bland "beer" cheese soup smothering it. Don't go to a German restaurant and order nachos is what I had to retort to the person. It's a limited menu mostly of authentic German cuisine and you can't go wrong with most choices...

Stopped in for lunch, burger was good but the meat was pretty thin, toppings for burger was missing even though they asked and we said yes to all. The cook obviously can’t read. Waitresses were all very alert and kind. But the price for beer was a scam and I’m about to explain the rip off. I ordered a liter of beer and my wife ordered a half a liter. When I noticed the size difference I then ordered an ice water and requested it to be in the same glass as the half of liter that my wife was using. When I finished my liter I poured the ice water into my liter glass and it filled 1/4 of the glass. So you’re better off buying a liter for 13.00 than 6 to 7 dollars for 1/2 liter knowing it’s not half liter. Restaurant table seating is in patio when entrance is in front. Don’t offer French fries with burger but can get potatoe salad which is served in a small cup that is no bigger than the cup one might get ketchup or tartar sauce in. Which is about a table spoon. Our waitress was great but the cook is clueless and the proportion of food is a joke. This business won’t last. We spoke outside with another party just leaving and they was not...

As a visitor from Louisiana with a deep appreciation for food and culture, I found the atmosphere of this German beer garden to be truly remarkable. The establishment exudes an old-world charm with its rustic wooden décor, creating an immersive experience. Our waitress was exceptionally friendly, although got slightly teary eyed when we requested to split the bill. Regarding the cuisine, I opted for the bratwurst, hoping to indulge in authentic German flavors. However, I found it to be somewhat dry and lacking in robust flavor profiles, falling short of my expectations. Despite this culinary setback, I must acknowledge that the overall experience was enjoyable. While I may not revisit for the food, I believe this venue holds promise as a delightful destination for social gatherings with friends, particularly for those seeking a lively night out accompanied by quality beer. Ultimately, while the culinary aspect may have left something to be desired, the ambiance and potential for an enjoyable evening remain noteworthy.

I came to this joint on my recent stint in the WI area. This restaurant was eyeballed while walking the strip so I decided to try it out. The inside has bier garten vibes housing a few round and party tables with the rear housing a small outdoor dining area. I visited twice. Both times getting Otto's Famous Bratwurst w/a side of German potato salad. The first visit they were out of pretzels but not during the second! The pretzel was warm, soft, and very good. The cheese sauce it came w/was great as well but the pretzel can hold it's own w/o the cheese! The German potato salad was to die for. It was a hint of sweetness, maybe from raisins or similar, but DANG is it good. Don't miss out on this sleeper! Anyway, the brat was grilled to char which is ok w/me topped on a roll. To accompany the brat they bring out a basket of mustard, which has 3 mustards (maybe 4, can't remember) which pairs awesome but again, the brat can hold it's own. Seems to be more of a bar but the food was pretty good.

We were up in the north woods for a little time away. After a nice mountain bike ride in Minocqua we decided we needed a beer and a bite. Otto’s looked like the perfect spot. 70° in northern Wisconsin in October ment we sat outside. They have a great Bier garden out there. Could use a little love but it was October and probably the end of the patio season. The beers were fantastic for sure! My son ordered the Knackwurst and he said it was super tasty! I got the Otto’s Famous Bratwurst and holy moly!! Not only was it the best brat I have ever had it was one of the best things I have ever tasted! The flat brat crisp on both sides was magic! We are already planning our next trip up north and we are definitely stopping at Otto’s again!
