Cafe Del Buono — Restaurant in Town of New Hartford

It was my first time there and seeing how busy they always were, I thought they would be a good place to stop for lunch. The bartender was amazing and service was excellent. The food was horrible. I ordered chicken "riggies". These were not riggies, but rather penne with very little chicken and no flavor. Riggies are made with rigatoni, thus the name, not Penne {cheaper, but not as good}. Change your name or change the pasta. Maybe it was stated, but I only looked at the title and thought that was what I was getting-not! The bartender was amazing, the service perfect. Food-no. I visit Del Buono every Friday for the fresh fish. They offer either a fish sandwich & fries or you can go all out and get the fish fry. I love the traditional breadcrumb style they use, and Del Buono also has rotating soup specials. One week it's Manhattan, next week it's New England, and the following week is Lobster Bisque. On a rare occasion the chef makes a shrimp and sausage Jumbalaya that is out of this world. Even if seafood isn't your thing they have an amazing chicken parm, lemon chicken, and much more. Dinner on Monday night 8 26 2024. I ordered the sirloin filet medium cooked. I couldn't even eat it. The steak was cooked rare. Bloody and rubber like. When the waitress came to clear the table she noticed I didn't eat it and said she'd take it off the bill. Not wanting to cause a scene I accepted her offer. Table of 4 with drinks, multiple appetizers 3 lemon sauce haddock dinners and 1 filet was our order. The filet was on the bill half price. Being from SC and visiting upstate NY at least once a year.
