Sumo’s is unapologetically true to itself, and in the best way possible. In an age where convenience is dictated by smartphone apps and delivery services, Sumo’s remains steadfast in doing what they do best. It's one of the few remaining restaurants that doesn’t offer online ordering or delivery—and yet, this hasn’t impacted their business one bit. We decided to order take-out, which consisted of an edamame appetizer, a vegetable hibachi dinner with a side of noodles (note: if you order hibachi for take-out, it doesn’t come with noodles like it does when dining in), and a vegetable fried rice entrée (this isn’t technically on their menu, but they’re very accommodating). Our order was ready shortly after the stated pick-up time, which we appreciated because we knew the food would be hot—and the extra two-minute wait didn’t hurt at all. While waiting, we watched many parties being promptly seated, and the staff was exceptional at tending to customers’ needs, ensuring everyone had an enjoyable experience. The hibachi chefs deserve a special mention—they do an amazing job of making the experience fun and interactive, especially for the kids. Hands down, Sumo’s remains our top hibachi spot in the area!

It is a great restaurant for an outing with family or friends. We tried out the hibachi and had a really wonderful time with the show. The chef was funny, delightful, and a generally great guy! For him, this completes 5 stars. Personally I would recommend that you visit around the week when there are fewer people because at weekends there can be quite a rush. The food was definitely worth the price (although a bit more on the expensive side) and everything was clean if a bit empty, since most of the place is dark colored the enviorment wasn't my favorite however this was a really good experience and I am currently making plans to return! Really enjoyed it!

Should've got sushi because their Pad Thai was absolutely the worst I ever had. I ordered chicken Pad Thai with no bean sprouts for takeout, and I have had better looking and tasting Pad Thai from the precooked boxes at Walmart. Litteraly no flavor in the sauce and the chicken had zero seasoning. Avoid the Thai section in the menu here as the hibachi and sushi look to be a lot better of an option

I’LL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN! If I could give them a lower rating, I would. The management is awful! My family and I have frequented this restaurant quite often over the years. Usually the chef puts on a nice show while preparing our food. Usually the chef can actually cook. Usually the food is good. There was not one thing usual about last night. I literally had to ask the chef to season our food. I had to ask the chef to cook our food longer. The chef was literally about to give us shrimp that was still gray in color! The chef acted like he was annoyed with my requests. I was polite with my requests. I didn’t want my family catching E. coli or some other bug. I don’t even feel like the range that he was cooking on was hot enough. Needless to say, the food was terrible! The chicken tasted like it was not fresh. The scallops were still undercooked, our well well done steak still had pink in it. This is probably because although I asked the chef to cook our food longer, it appeared that he pushed our food over to a part of the range thy wasn’t as hot. The area that he pushed our food to on the range probably just kept our food warm instead of actually cooking it more. I asked to speak to the manager. The manager is terrible. Manager told me that I’m the only one that complained all day. Ok... and? He has terrible customer service. He literally tried raising his voice and arguing with me( in front of my family)that my food was good and that his chef was good. Meanwhile my whole entire plate was pretty much untouched. Of course I had to taste a couple things to know that it was not good. Otherwise, there my food sat. Full plate. Things got intense. I do believe the customer is always right. I can’t stand a bad businessman. The management argued with me that my experience was not what I expressed it to be. He actually had the audacity to have a 25 some odd dollar gratuity amount factored into my bill! He acted like he didn’t know how to fix the bill. Of course I wasn’t paying gratuity for this horrible service or his tacky attitude. It was a joke. I felt disrespected. All because I expressed that I had a bad experience. I wasn’t looking for a free meal. I didn’t even eat! Maybe a little understanding. My kids picked over there food enough so that I was still willing to pay. Maybe a percentage off possibly. Never again. Two...

I had a reservation for 11 people for a birthday celebration, I called a week prior to ask if I could reserve a hibachi table with one chef because I did not want my party split up. If they couldn't accommodate, I had another restaurant in mind. I was told yes, their big table could fit 11 to 13. I told them I was flexible on the time, but they said I could pick any time. So we chose 5:30pm. I called two additional times to confirm one table, one chef, the last time was the day of to add an extra guest to our reservation. I wanted to ensure that would not have any effect on getting the one table for all. When we arrived I reminded them that we were a party of 12 with one hibachi table. We waited over 20 minutes before being seated at two hibachi tables where my party was split and they also had 3 people we didn't know seated with us. When I mentioned I had called 3 times and was told I had the big table with one chef, the girl said, "I told you I can't guarantee that." Which was completely untrue because none of the times I called was that said to me. She said if I wanted the big table I would have to wait another 30 minutes (now almost an hour past our reservation time). I had special guests from out of town with us and I was completely embarrassed that I had to argue about the fact that I was promised the big table and wait well past our reservation time. We ended up waiting, but I will never go back. I don't recommend giving this place one cent of your money; they will clearly lie just to get your reservation. They rushed us through the meal and the chef was okay but he looked less than thrilled to be there. What a shame, this place...

I've been to sumo 4 times. Most times were a great time except Friday may 16th. Their food is wonderful, drinks are even better & the amount of food u get for the price is amazing. My issue was customer service. Usually I get a booth every time I go but it was busy & none were available. I was disappointed but I sat at the sushi bar with my friend & they gave us a complimentary spicy crab salad which was so good I ordered another one. I was sitting there for a while trying to catch up with my friend & kept ordering more food & drinks but the 2nd waitress we had kept rushing us & asked me 7 times exactly about when I was paying my bill which was weird because nobody ever rushed me there b4. She acted as if I wasn't going to pay which irritated me because I definitely have the money to pay. Im not sure if someone skipped the bill b4 or if it was because I'm black so she assumed i wouldn't have the money but regardless i was very upset.By the 7th time of her asking I paid for me/my friend & left. I wanted two more drinks mind u my bill was already 121.00 but I was fine with that. Since she kept harassing me about paying I didn't wanna stay anymore. I don't like feeling rushed it takes away from the experience. The other waiter we had b4 her was better. They definitely need to work on customer service because that was the first time I felt uncomfortable. I really enjoy their food/drinks but i might have to start going back to red samurai for a better customer service experience. Hopefully nobody else goes...
