I always like to go order in this place. The pizza’s really one of the best in the neighborhood. But what I experienced yesterday was a total disgrace.
It was around 4ish in the afternoon, I went in there & tried to order something. The very tall guy in glasses just looked at me w/o greetings, he looked like, yes???? So I said him I need to order some pizza. He didn’t say anything, but just started to put my order in the oven.
As I was on the way to grab a drink, I overheard a Hispanic guy saying to the tall one in Spanish, Ku-China…. (An insulting slur refers to Asians, since pig in Spanish is pronounced Ku-China). I was shocked! But I do remember the very same guy who dumped all the food crumbs to the floor while he’s cleaning the top of the garbage bin in the store. He’s kinda lean built with a very sharp eagle nose, dark hair & brownish skin tone.
After I grabbed my drink from the fridge, I walked back to pay at the cashier. I kept hearing both of them murmuring in Spanish while the lean-built guy walked by the ovens. I then handed my credit card to the tall guy to pay for my order. I guess when he handed me back the card along with the receipt w/o saying anything & I was just looking at the counter….. but then I realized that he was holding them in the air, so I said thank you & took them back. But at the same time, I saw him & the other older Hispanic guy, who was making the dough, giggling & talking in Spanish while I was waiting at the counter.
Finally, a very friendly chubby guy wearing glasses packed my order, thanked me & wished me a good day! I did the same to him. Idk what his name was, but he defly made my day!
I’m kinda a reg customer & I found the American staff are always friendly except those above, especially the lean-built & tall guy. Guess I’m not welcome there. So I’ll try to stop going there...
Read moreI'm allergic to cow's milk now, so when I walk into a pizzeria, I'm always looking for great garlic knots and/or cheese free alternative eats and boy did I get lucky with Angelo's! First, their garlic knots are old world delicious, made with good quality olive oil, real garlic, a bit of salt and a whole lot of love. Not one garlic knot was dry - they were heaven. Especially since they give you a little cup of delicious marinara to dip them in but I never used the marinara with the garlic knots, as they were perfection on their own. Second dish was a delectable mini, thin crust pizza with crispy edges, spread with marinara and piled high with tenderly seasoned and sauteed broccoli rabe, yellow zucchini and garlic with olive oil and four pieces of fresh mozzarella on top (I had the cheese removed before heating) and it was delicious! (I used my lil' cup of marinara on it). I left the pizzeria full, happy and satisfied with no cheese! Also, the staff greets you with a smile, thanks and a fond farewell. I will be back for more great food and service with smiles. P.S. they offer samples of their zeppoles and they are AMAZING (ask them to heat it up and they will put powdered sugar on it for...
Read moreThis my 2nd time here so I'm comfortable leaving a review.
Both times the orders were not ready when the web tracking said they were.
The staff are very friendly, pack the orders well and include the correct utensils and adequate napkins. None of the staff wear masks or gloves.
On my first trip there we got an order of angel hair pasta with marinara sauce and an order of angel hair pasta with mushrooms. They nicely included grated cheese on the side without having to be asked. A big plus. The marinara sauce was great while the sauce that came with the mushroom order was mediocre at best.
Tonight we ordered a potato + egg hero & a veal + mushroom parmigian hero. Both heros were small but the veal + mushroom was actually a cheese + sauce hero, I had to open it up to find a couple tiny pieces of veal, and it was very salty to boot.
I have not had their pizza so I can't comment on it.
My recommendation is stay away from the heroes all together and if you want pasta insist on getting it with the excellent marinara sauce.
It has been ordered by the acting governor that anyone in an indoor public establishment must be wearing a mask, so the people working here...
